Christmas spirit

I think it's more of a jealously thing. See OPs NHS thread for example. Before cheesefest he was the most popular supermarket worker. How the mighty have fallen.

Is that like winning a Golden Raspberry award?

What a brilliantly Scottish person post. Quotes drinking from morning till night with a variety of booze, and then suggests it's taking it easy :D

If I live to be forty, I will never understand what you sassenachs have against drinking.

I've gone with Adriatico Amaretto.
I'd considered that it's expensive but has a fancy bottle - luxardo is made correctly with apricot kernels too, and great for sipping neat with coffee as a liquour,
linked walcher is (incorrectly imhop) made from almonds..

I would like a bottle of clooney's tequila though

Also want some lemoncello
I'd had luxardo one in my bag for ages after earlier market analysis

I'll get (yet another) bottle of Dalwhinnies Winters Gold, which is just about my favourite whisky, straight from the freezer.

Did anyone else think this thread was going to be about how 'up for Xmas you're feeling' ?

Surely this should be in the food and drink section. :p

I will be on the red wine, beers and Prosecco.

I made it my plan a couple of years back that I only get to drink 2 nights a week. Also helps if you have to get up for exercise. I dont religiously stick to it but its a good rule of thumb. It'll go out the window for a few days over Xmas mind ha.

To help justify all that food and alcohol over Christmas I make sure I go the gym everyday it's open.

I did float the idea of espresso martinis with breakfast but for some reason this was shot down..... :p

Terrible pun alert

If they want shots, go with a pornstar martini as then you get a shot of prosecco on the side. Could add some orange into it to make it more festive!

Random story - Was once in a "cocktail bar", on the cocktail menu, they had a pornstar martini but nothing normal. I asked if i could just get a regular Vodka martini and the waitress looked at me blankly and then said she'd have to check, and then came back saying they didn't have the ingredients... It was at that point even my wife realised the cocktails were likely to be awful and we got up and left.

At a Mexican restaurant with multiple bottles of tequila and cointreau behind the bar, I asked for a margarita. The waitress came back and told me that they had none left. I suggested a recipe but she said the bar had told her it couldn't be done. The food wasn't great either!

Vodka is vodka?

Whisky is a whole different ball game.
Does not compute?

There's a world of difference between a good and terrible vodka, just the same as there is whisky

And rightly so if better alternatives are available locally :D

Never had Japanese whisky I take it? ;)

+1

Also Old Pultenay a good staple.

If you want to go a bit more spenny I'd go for Lagavulin 16. Normally on offer for £49.

Can also highly recommend the Kilkerran 12 year old, or for something a bit different, The Chita is a very nice Japanese whiskly
