Hi all, I am looking to upgrade my PC. I mainly play Sim racing games in VR (Assetto Corsa Competizione and Iracing), I also play COD, Cyberpunk and similar game. Although my PC can play these games pretty well I am not getting the best FPS and graphics. Mainly in VR I tend to struggle to get good quality and good fps.

Am I best upgrading or selling all of below and starting again? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Current Specs:
CPU - Intel Core i5 9600K @ 3.70GHz Coffee Lake 14nm Technology
RAM - 16.0GB Dual-Channel Corsair @ 1203MHz (16-16-16-39)
Motherboard - ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. PRIME Z390-A (LGA1151)
Graphics - 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti (Gigabyte)
PSU - OCZ ZS Series 550W PSU (I think)
Monitor - G34WQC (3440x1440@144Hz)
Storage
223GB Crucial CT240BX500SSD1 (SATA (SSD))
931GB Western Digital WDC WD10EZEX-00BN5A0 (SATA )
1863GB Seagate ST2000DM006-2DM164 (SATA )
931GB Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 1TB (RAID (SSD))

9600 overclocked? Should hit 4.9 easy air cooled.

You will not be CPU limited. Assetto Corsa now has DLSS, should have a good boost in vr

2400mhz Memory speed is a bit low would look at getting some 3600mhz or overclock what you have.

3060ti 4gb ?

8GB GPU

I have tried many times to overclock my CPU but never managed to get it stable at decent temps so gave up. I used the ASUS Intelligent Software but always got the BSOD so tried with Intel Extreme, don't think I have the patience lol

Definately you should look at faster ram even if you upgrade your cpu and motherboard you can reuse the 3600mhz.

Thanks, I did some reading and Im pretty confused.....Some places say my mobo and CPU wont support ram above 2666MHz unless I enable XMP (which I can't seem to do in the BIOS)?

You prob did not adjust LLC load line calibration to compensate the additional power draw required.
I would overclock to 4.9 and change LLC to be Turbo, keeping an eye on temps under load do not exceed 90C.

You wont be able to enable faster x.m.p or d.o.c.p profile if its not supported so having 2400mhz memorry there wont be a profile for 3600mhz.

Faster 3600mhz will have a profile so you should in theory be able to load it but remember xmp is overclocking the memory.

Yeah I wasn't touching LLC, I changed it to 5 and seem to have a stable 4.8 with temps into the early 80's. Pretty sure when I changed LLC that there was not a Turbo but will check once Im home from work.

Sorry mate, does that mean I can run 3600 RAM?

Yeah may be different flavours to explore, I have a Gigabyte Mobo
