Anyone got a Ring doorbell sending chimes to a Google Assistant Sonos speaker?

Hi all

Bit niche this so not sure I'll have any luck but...

I've just installed a Ring door bell (fresh wired - cheaper but PITA, but that's another story) and am trying to get it working through my Google-enabled Sonos speakers as chimes.

I'm reading conflicting reports on the web about if this is even possible, and any instructions that say 'just do this' don't correlate with what I can find.

I understand these two are competitors but does anyone know if this is possible please?

If you do find an answer to this, I'd be keen to understand also. Planning on getting a Sonos soon and that would be a useful feature.

I spent about an hour on Google reading various complicated solutions, mostly needing a computer science degree, then realised I could just use the Samsung Android tablet we've got set up as a Daily Board photo frame in the kitchen by enabling notifications from the Ring app and turning the notification volume up.

It's really loud and rings almost straight away.

So I've given up trying to use the Sonos speakers.

I think that it is possible with Home Assistant in the middle. I have seen it done a few times using the TTS command to play .mp3 files when the doorbell is pressed

I've got my Nest doorbell working with my Sonos Beam. Although i can't see how i set it up in the Nest app, i think it might have just been a case of adding everything to Google Home and it just picked it up that way.

I'm sure Alexa must be able to do something similar.
