Dashcams support the proactive casualty reduction work of the police. NSF[TWFox]

Forgive me for not knowing the area, but I can't see them actually driving into McDonalds there?

I can think of several occasions at work (full disclosure, I'm a police officer) where there has been two police vehicles in convoy like that (or a police vehicle following an ambulance) and you'd put the lights on like that to skip through red lights, that I'd consider for a legitimate police purpose, no McDonalds involved.

Entrance to the one-way system is just out of shot which brings you back to McDs. It's a weird road layout & a PITA to get round with a bus.

People think the only reason for feddies to roll up in a maccys car park is for a munch? Hahaha so much goes down at maccys, trust!

It’s amazing how so many people seem so utterly oblivious to their own failings yet seem happy to pick up on the faults in others.

Something tells me a proportion of those with in car cameras are motivated by capturing the mistakes as others as much as mitigating risk. I remember one such individual getting annoyed at me at a road narrowing.

I had the right of way by sign, I went and he was annoyed as he didn’t feel he needed to stop as he was travelling too quick. His pointing at his camera and mouthing “I have you on camera” still makes me smile. I was 100% right, by the book and within the law, he was utterly wrong but…he had me on film so he must be right.

Yep this is why I hate dash cams. The self righteous love them.

Speed limiters being fitted as standard next year and fully enforced 2024.
It’s over folks unless you do track days.

Speed 'limiters' that you can override by pressing the accelerator?

likewise, in the real world, driving faster than the posted limit doesn't actually save a material amount of time because of other traffic. Perhaps I'm getting old in my but I gave up with 'making progress' years ago because it doesn't actually save any time, costs more in fuel and there are too many revenue raising safety cameras around.

Speed 'limiters' that you can override by pressing the accelerator?

Yes, until you no longer can in 2024.
Not just that but a black box will store the data and the police can use it to endorse you at a later date.
Our freedoms are disappearing.
The other thing ‘I will just drive an older car without this technology’
Well you will be stuck behind loads of electronically limited vehicles with dash cams :o

Some of the videos posted on channels like UK dash cams are laughable and I wouldn't waste police time reporting similar situations.

A couple years back I did see something worth reporting though, a full on road rage incident with punches thrown. Took the footage to West Midlands Police who said that because I wasn't the victim and I couldn't say there was damage caused they wouldn't even look at the footage or log that any incident had took place. I was speechless...

Punches thrown? Guy taps aggressively on the other car a few times.

Victim would have needed to call in at the time.

If a police officer was there they would intervene, but no one’s taking on that job with no victim asking them too. It’s just poor behaviour. There is a complete lack of funding for the Police to look at this kind of job.

UK Dashcams on YouTube is one of my guilty pleasures in life

I can't watch it any more because it hurts my soul knowing that drivers which such little understanding of driving are on the same roads as me, I'd rather live in blissful ignorance otherwise I'd be too scared to drive :D

Gotta be honest one of the reasons I like to drive my truck is that people tend, though it is no guarantee, to be a little more cautious around me. Some are just idiots though and doesn't matter what you drive.

Coventry ring road is enough to give anyone road rage.

I didn't see anyone punching anyone though?

Coventry ring road is enough to give anyone road rage.

I went to Coventry once to see a friend. On the phone telling him we wont be long, he said "Cool, though whatever you do, don't go on the ring road. Where are you?" to which I replied "On the ring road....". lol.

The design is almost as bad as Nuneaton's one way system.

Seems to be increasingly the case everywhere :(

Town I spent most of my childhood living in used to be trivial to drive from one side of the other, now there are multiple non-intuitive roundabouts and junctions which are difficult to get right on first approach if you aren't familiar with them. To be fair some actually make sense once you understand them but others are just silly.

I watch (I think) Sussex Police videos on Facebook.
At the end of each clip they tell you what the driver got eg 6 points & £500 fine.
So these are videos the Police have accepted from the public and they are bad driving.
