Keep 3070ti or go for 6700XT

I managed to get a Founders 3070ti card for RRP. I would have gone AMD but with the FE cards at actual MSRP and everything else inflated, the 6700XT that I wanted (Sapphire Nitro+) is just too much £££ to justify. Since getting my 3070ti, I've had an offer for the card. This would cover the cost of the 6700XT, plus a little extra (effectively reducing the 6700XT pricing to more 'reasonable' price.

I'm not too bothered by RT just yet, and I feel the 6700XT would (possibly) last longer given the 8GB vs 12GB VRam.
Currently running 3440 x 1440 ultra wide screen.

Thoughts?

If you go for the sapphire versh, you can run sapphire "trixx" software, a sort of very poor man's DLSS, gives you a fair boost in performance with no degradation of image quality (that I can see anyway). I just wish powercolor did the same thing as you need a sapphire card to use it.

I have both cards (in different rigs in the house), albeit different AIB for my 6700 XT. Go for either …. The 3070 Ti is probably just a shade ahead of the 6700 XT and just a shade behind the 6800, so if you are getting a little cash along with the trade and you wanted the 6700 originally: go for it!!! Hey, why not?

3070ti it's more powerful , it compares to 6800 performance so will just be downgrade

You got it at MSRP , 6700xt even being one of the higher AIB still isn't worth it over the 70ti imo

Depending on what you can get for the 3070Ti. I would sell now and buy a 6900XT when they go as low as £1200.

So spend even more money? And have no graphics card whilst hoping for a £1200 card to drop.

A 3070ti will get you £800 after delivery and fees at best.

Depends what he's getting for the card. You seem to know the unknown here @muon !

I would not get the 6700xt as its terrible value in the shops right now, I would pay any difference to get one of the lowest priced 6900's. like I said. Massive improvement.

Of course I know the OP is not getting an absurd amount of money that would make a 6900XT viable. Look on ebay and there are many 3070ti cards at £900 and some slightly below.

Especially if they've already said it only buys them a 6700XT which is a £700-£750 card.

Your heart is obviously with the 6700xt. So why keep a GPU that you're unhappy with?

If you were indifferent about either GPU then it would make sense to ask the forum for advice.
But that's not the case. Your heart is with the 6700xt so that's what you should go for.

Do you know how much they are going for on current sites? Red devil's for example are as much as £850, there are not many that are cheaper.. so if he said "plus a little extra" that could be £900.

ed- check the site that sells FE cards.. the xmas special is £839.99

Lets say it is £900, where are the 6900 XT cards that the OP has to then spend another £300 on from their original £529 spend.

Having to resort to expensive Red Devil cards to make your argument now. If that is what the OP was gonna spend their money on, then its a terrible idea and the OP should tell us as they would be crazy given prices below.

edit: Even the red devil is in stock right now for £759. The brilliant sapphire nitro is £729. The cheap sapphire pulse for sub £700.
