Hi all, moved into a new house and won't have internet until the 18th so will need to work from home for a while without it. My intention was to just tether from my mobile but was wondering if there was a better solution such as a 4G router and a data sim? If so, is there anything anyone can specifically recommend?

Not a hell of a lot to be honest, it really only has to tide me over for a week or so. I was looking at the offer from 3 for the Huawei 4G Plus MiFi for £29 up front and an unlimited 30 day sim for £27.

When I moved in I went to a phone shop in town and got a 3g dongle, presumably there are 4g dongles now. It's not really better than tethering though, so if your phone contract can take the data just do that, it's only temporary so I wouldn't spend much.

Your iPhone likely has a much better radio than any router you can buy. My iPhone has a Cat 16 LTE radio in, there's not many routers with that sort of performance.

If you don't want to use your phone's Wi-Fi hotspot then a lot of travel routers support connecting your phone via USB and they will then share that connection out.

Thanks for all the responses guys. Been using my mobile today and its been okay, should be fine to get me through the week.
