Initial idea was to go for a 12400 but I'm thinking of returning it for a 12600k instead as it will likely be a long time before I upgrade again. For reference, I'm coming from a 5820k X99 setup.

Budget is around £1200 excluding GPU as I've already got a 3060ti.

Edit: Couldn't find the exact memory, it's the 3600 mhz dominator platinum's I'm looking at.

Also, with how good the airflow is in the case, would it be worth just getting an air cooler for the CPU?

The case has high air flow but its a bit of a marmite case on looks.

The crucial p5p ssd is £113 on OCUK and you wont notice any difference in speeds between it and the samsung but your pocket will.

Also the crucial ram is cheaper, still has rgb and also tightere timings than the dom plats (that I found to reference against)

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £301.68 (includes shipping: £8.70)

Not concerned with how the case looks, I like it and it performs well.

Those crucial sticks are slightly cheaper than the dominator platinum's I'm looking at but the timings aren't tighter, they're worse.

I only looked at the ones on OCUK that are 3600mhz 18-19-19-39.

Yeah, unfortunately I can’t link them. Although saying that I might be able to find them on the Corsair site.

I’m willing to change the case out for something cheaper as long as it still reviews well for airflow. £200 is a lot considering I’ll have to remove the bottom or front fans for the radiator if I go AIO.

Saved money on the SSD and RAM (same speed and timings) and increased the CPU to a 12700K, also swapped out the pointlessly expensive PSU for a good Corsair RMx 750w model.

CPU: Intel Core i7-12700K 3.6 GHz 12-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 280 72.8 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Asus PRIME Z690-P D4 ATX LGA1700 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB RS 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory
Storage: Samsung 980 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive
Power Supply: Corsair RMx (2018) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

~Total: £950

Haven't chosen a case for you, but they one you like is the one you like.

That looks sound.

Yeah, it was those.

The main thing I can't settle on now is a case. I've just watched a review of the 4000X and the airflow performance isn't very good unless you remove the glass panel.

I've got a couple of 180mm Silverstone Air Penetrators that I could re-use but I can't find many cases with 180mm fan intakes.

What about the 4000d airflow or do you want rgb like on the 4000x ?

Cheers, I've had a look around and I think I'll go with that case and stick 2 of these on the front: https://www.arctic.de/en/BioniX-F140/ACFAN00162A
P14 offer better airflow and higher static pressure .

You can also get a black white mixed version of the f140 bionix fan which look pretty cool.

Kinda like the contrast of black in a white case especially if you have any other black components.
