I'm gonna start a war....6900XT vs 3080ti

Are prices still going up? I bought a 6900xt a couple of months ago for £1200. If it comes down to pure cost, then a £1200 6900xt would win over a £1500 3080 ti
 
I don't see the point in buying a new card that is lacking in new technologies. As such I wouldn't swap my 3080 for a 6900XT.

Guess it depends how much value the OP places on those. Personally I don’t have much need for RT or DLSS so don’t really care for it. I had a 3090 and used neither.
 
Raytracing performance and DLSS are both big reasons I wouldn't consider an AMD card right now. 3XXX series easily for me
 
Dang it, I appreciate it but....don't get the money till end of week lol hopefully a drop will occur soon after. Really appreciate though!

Yea you’ll be able to get one on the next drop as they last a decent amount of time compared to other models.
You’ll get a better card than you initially intended for a bit less money.

Yep. I was trying to get one to replace my 3080 but I’m banned since I bought FE cards before. Tried to contact my mate to get it for me but by the time he replied it was too late.
Oh well I’m going to have to “struggle” with my 3080 for a little longer LOL.
 
Not gonna lie, made an emergency call to someone to borrow the money.....Out of Stock, had it in the basket and everything. Oh well, next time!

That’s why it’s always worth to have a credit card/PayPal credit available.
No worries you’ll get it on the next drop.
Use telegram FE part alert as that’s the best way to get one.
 
What is the best way to be notified of this, you guys were great but would be helpful to have a notification on my phone or is this not possible?

3080 Ti, hands down. When you turn RT on in something like Cyberpunk the card jumps up to being 50% faster than the 6900 XT. Then you turn on DLSS and it goes to twice as fast, or more. Normally you'd be able to temper it a bit with resolution scaling but in this case the game doesn't allow you to do that when you turn on RT, so only way to do it is to manually switch res but that has its own problems with UI scaling and doesn't look as good, etc. And unfortunately that's not a unique occurrence.

Fundamentally the 3080 Ti will be a class or two above a 6900 XT in specific and highly desirable circumstances (RTX) but when the 6900 XT edges out the 3080 Ti it does so in a much more modest fashion and usually in games where you already have plenty of fps. Plus the vram difference will not be an issue in the least for many years, if ever before the cards die.

For the same price the choice is a no brainer.
 
That is what I have gathered by watching way too many Youtube reviews. In the games where the 6900 is faster you are already at 100 fps+ on Nvidia but when it comes to games that have specific feature sets, Raytracing, DLSS Nvidia are very far ahead.
