Amazon are rumoured to be thinking of buying them, their business model has gone a little south recently...

They were always a very niche product for dedicated athletes, the pandemic brought a ton more people to their platform due to not being able to go to the gym anymore and their business exploded. They went nuts on marketing and expansion rather than focus on what they'd do once the gyms started opening up again and people couldn't justify spending a monthly sub on something they already pay for in the gym, and their share price dropped like a stone. They tried to be smug and hang out with all the cool kids in the tech world whilst turning a blind eye to the fact that their success was very much situational, rather than due to them having good products. That's now biting them hard, I'm amazed they're still going tbh.

Their bikes also aren't very good, we had a couple at our gym at work and they were constantly breaking down.

The did also have a product (treadmill) which resulted in the death of at least 1 child in the US, having ignored the injuries caused to others prior to that event, then refused to accept responsibility until the US Gov forced them to.... not a great brand building event.

I think they will continue to have a niche with the wealthy and famous who don't want to be seen sweating in the gym, and particularly with women. Serious cyclists seem to prefer the alternatives, of which there are many at more appetising price points, and this ultimately limits their potential base severely.

I put over a ton of fuel in my Alphard recently when I had to stop at one of the BPs on the M1 and fill up with super. Paid nearly 1.70 a litre or something.

Mercedes E43. It takes super which doesn't help and I'd run it to fumes.

Sounds familiar. Costs around a ton to fill my C43 on Super unleaded now. Luckily I don't do many miles so it's around 1 tank per month. It is a bigger tank than average (66l) and I'm assuming that's the same for the E43.
