Hey,

Dropped my Mazda 3 MPS (Mk2) off to a company called Bean Vinyled in spalding.

Dave is the owner, he has a great rep and does fantastic work that lasts the duration.

He's currently working on the car, fixing some issues with the bodywork and panel alignment so to get the best from the new wrap. I had tons of dents removed by a dent guy a few days prior to taking it down.

I've had some photos through of some sections wrapped so far, I thought I'd share them here.

The roof and Mirror caps are in Morph Black.
The bodywork is in Hexus Montpellier Blue Gloss with a KPMF Pacific Blue Starlight Gloss Overlaminate

The Overlaminate does a couple of things:
1. Is extra material, so in my mind acts as a little extra protection for the HEXUS wrap under it.
2. Adds a Purple / Pink flip in the sunlight. So at the right lighting angles its blue with some pinky purple showing through. I like it, its different, and as its a wrap.. why be boring?

Spoiler Done here

I'll add further photos to the thread as things develop.

Thanks all, Much love!

How much?
I got a discount for being part of the MPS OC, Dave has the same car.
I'm having additional works done which raises the price, and as you can see, he removes the bumpers and other items to do the job.
The Overlaminate also inflates the price as the material is around £350 extra ontop of the base wrap material price.
Somewhere under £2k.

If i was ever going to get a wrap i'd want it to be a bit of a bonkers colour personally so good show on not just having another boring colour car on the road.

I've always wanted the car in blue. To stop being "boring", I added the colour change overlaminate.
Sorry if that's not bonkers enough for you :P

FYI the pictures are thumbnails only... the links just take you to imgbb :p

Ah ok, for some reason i always thought it would be about half that, max.
No chance.
Material cost is around £400, for mines its more as I'm having the overlaminate too
A PROPER job, is likely 30+ hours.
You need a skilled person to undertake that kind of work, so a min hour cost would start around £40 I'd expect. Which is £1200 in labour. Of that not much left for profit due to business costs.
Plus any other bits needed.

If you see people offering cheap wraps, don't touch with a barge pole...

Wrapping cars as a job is in the same category as plastering imo.

Do you need to update the log book?

Be interested to see the final results, as not far from me and didn't even realise they were there.

Looks good so far. How does the 2k spend compare to a respray? Are we talking a bit more money, or at least double?

Also, how did your insurers react to a colour change?

I was quoted £4.5k for colour change paint.
£3.2k for white respray.

It's declared on my insurance as external cosmetic modifications.

I specifically asked them what to list it as. They advised as such. Cost me £9 via the Web portal.
Admiral.
