I have one hue smart light and no hue hub.

This was on the info that my Google home could control this light by BT.

Unfortunately it. Keeps flaking out. There is always a 'problem' and it can't connect.

Anyone else have similar?

I recently bought 2 huw bulbs, operating them on BT via Alexa Echo Dot that is positioned approximately 2m from one and 2.5m from the other. It can never locate the one that is 2.5m away :(

I am buying the hue bridge next month, so decided to live with it for now.

Surely the thread topic should have been. IsHues with Bluetooth? :D

The Bluetooth seems pretty poor compared to bridge use, have you contacted the technical support yet?

Ishues. Amazing!

No I haven't. And I don't really want to get a bridge for one light!
I almost feel this is a con.

It works with BT.. Oh it doesn't really. I better get the bridge. Now I've got the bridge might as well get more bulbs.

I'd suck it up on this one TBH. Bluetooth was never a great choice for smart plugs for several reasons. WiFi being the next worst. It was specifically why ZigBee was required as a technology before smart devices became viable.

I got a hue hub from Members Market for about 18 quid including a switch IIRC.

The Hub (or even WiFi devices) at least have the benefit of setting timers if you are on holiday etc.

Yeah I think it's probably just way it is and I'll just live with it. Might get a WiFi switch instead and do it like that. So my WiFi stuff is absolutely fine. Was hoping this would be better.

18 is a good price!
