BT Full Fibre 900 - thinking of going for it.

Thank you I though I did well. Hopefully. I am right at the end from the current cab. Not sure if things are any different with it being FTTP now but I just told kids and they are happy.

Usable distances are way higher with fibre and they’ll be planning/building with this in mind so you don’t need to worry about distance from their cab/exchange etc

Okay so here is an update.

My BT app was still showing the old dates and no update for hardware but had for install.

Gave them a call back, spoke to a lovely very camp guy who was so helpful, took all my details and then passed me on to the right department.

From there I then spoke to some Scottish lass. She was brutal but in the sense she put across that I wanted it installing now and the kit delivered tomorrow. So off she went to do her thing and 5 mins she’s back. Book

New install date 9th March 1300-1800.
Hardware being delivered tomorrow all being well.
Oh and £25 credit so my 1st bill will only be £11.10

I gotta say I’m impressed so far.

She also advised I needed to give it a week from install and then ask for the dishes. You get one for free to start with and some flex on other there after. Happy days

I just had EE FTTP 900/110 installed a week ago. I had an initial issue with download speed only reaching ~400Mb/s but after a couple of calls I'm now hitting the full 900Mb/s (hard wired) after what is likely a speed profile reset their end.

I believe the EE smart hub router and the BT Smart Hub 2 are one and the same and you may experience the ~51Mb/s upload cap which is a firmware bug and detailed at length (138 pages) on the community forum. If I connect straight through the ONT with a PPPoE connection I hit the full 110Mb/s upload speed and I plan on using a 3rd party router later on anyway so it's not a big issue for me.

I got hit by the 10/30/50MB upload limit a number of times after firmware upgrades with BT. The forums were great though and they have some decent folk on there who got it all sorted promptly. They actually encourage people to sort it via the forums as opposed to calling up.

I think the problem is that the routers are sent out with the production firmware on which is quite old, but it can take a decent amount of time to check in and update. The forum staff are able to force the updates on which seems to fix things.

Oh what a tail this is.

Monday lunchtime nothing updated about hardware so called and got that sorted. Arrived Tuesday.

Wednesday was install day and guess what. Nothing, no call, no message or visit. To add to it Plusnet cut the service despite being told.

Spoke with BT 3 times today. £25 credit each time. Tried to get Plusnet to enable us again but nope.

Am now to wait till Thursday morning 0800 to call again and get a install date.

Lost half a days wage due to being off as well. Fuming.

Spoken to a lovely lass just.
She’s just as fuming about it as I am. Rebooked for this Saturday 8-1.
£25 more credit as a good will.
Additional complaint lodged.

Sounds like you've got a good little earner going here! Hope those 25 credits cover your half days wages come the end of it all :p

The delays will soon be forgotten once you're up and running I'm sure.
