Does DVLA have a record of the time you tax your car

Hey guys, as title, can the Police check with DVLA the time of day the vehicle was taxed? asking because you can tax your car late in the month and the DVLA charge you from the 1st of that month. So for example, if I got caught driving without tax say at 11am and immediately taxed the vehicle at say 11:10am could I then say my vehicle was taxed earlier before I was stopped saying it can take up to 5 days for DVLA to update their records? Or could the Police check with DVLA to see the actual time of the day and date it was actually taxed?

It is very rare police will "do you" for no tax. Did you fail the attitude test?

More likely to be picked up by an ANPR camera.

Just make sure the tax doesn't run out, pay it by direct debit and you don't have to worry about it.

Guys, my car tax is always paid on time, this is about a very nasty neighbour who breaks the law almost daily with constant littering and abusive behavior, they used their car with no mot for almost 8 months and got away with it and it was a friend of theirs visiting with the untaxed vehicle and they taxed it almost immediately when I told them I was reporting it to DVLA and the Police.

It mustve been MOT'd when he taxed it as it checks. No MOT means the car cannot be taxed.

Life is too short would’ve been the polite way of saying it. More important things to be worrying about surely.
Without rule of law our short lives would be far worse surely but I do understand what's being said. I worry that using vehicles without tax or valid mot also may invalidates any insurance if any, do you think this is acceptable and OK and if so how would you justify it?

Of course it is not acceptable but life is too short to waste it getting bent out of shape by the actions of others. Ignore this neighbour you don’t like and enjoy life, checking the tax and mot status of his visitors cars is sad.

You're right but the police don't care. They're too busy on WhatsApp and arresting people for not paying their TV licence.

Well I don't buy a TV licence because I don't watch live TV, I do like to watch Emmerdale and Coronation street but only on itv hub catch up, other than that it's Youtube and amazon prime. Nothing live. Never known the Police to arrest people for not having a TV licence though???

Why the rude remark?

Probably because people who make it their purpose in life to check on other people’s VED and MOT do need to get a life.

Plus no one likes a grass.

You’re breaking the law then. Watching TV on catch up still requires a TV licence

They don't, he was making a point that they're not going to turn up because you've reported someone as not having their vehicle taxed.

The insurance company will still cover their third party liabilities.
