Nato have thus far proven in this conflict alone that they are defensive.

If nato wanted to invade or attack Russia why haven't they done so just now while Russia is distracted?

It was the truth all along and Russias concerns were baseless.

Yes (not that it matters with MAD). Though to further explain, if my choice was between violent subjugation under whatever patsy Russia (or anyone else) had lined up and resisting that then yes I would take the latter because it's not really a choice.

NATO is a tool to expand America's influence. If it was really defensive then they should have boots on the ground in Ukraine staring the Russians in the face before Russia invaded.

You are right that they did not invade Russia but the threat is always there. For example I have gun under the table. I may not be pointing it towards you but you know it is there. How would that change how you act when I start making requests from you? Knowing that at any moment I may find an excuse to pull it out and shoot you.

Two Super powers should never have borders touching each other whether directly or by proxy countries. Why do you think China keeps North Korea around.

This clearly has very little to do with Nato expansion, that’s just an excuse. Their/Putin’s goal is clearly reforming a Soviet Union.
Nato was already on Russia’s borders with the bare minimum forces required for defensive capabilities.
Ukraine is a sovereign country with democratically elected leaders. Who are russia or anyone to say they can’t pursue better ties with Eu counties who are also on their borders?

Russia has been protesting for a long time and learnt the lesson that if it is not in writing it doesn't count.

It's Putin wanting to play empire.
