Does Ukraine ever get there country back certainly a lot of questions after this can Russia survive all these sanctions, are Russia going to fund Ukraine to repair all the damage done.
In this day and age, seeing all those doomsday movies too brings it home
They are only doing what they can within limitations of causing a World War 3
It is yeah, Europe should look to take in as many Ukrainians as want to come and let them rebuild lives here, we don't have the power to do anything else.

We do have the power to do multiple things, but the consequences of doing so are too high (currently).
I am still shocked we haven't done dilly squat, we are supplying them with everything apart from attacking them. only because he threats / bully that he will use nukes
As controversial as it sounds, (and I'm literally nobody other than an armchair layman like everyone else in here)
If Russia really does start using heavy weapons and artillery against civilians and thousands start getting killed, would and even could - the west sit and not get involved militarily?
As high as the stakes are (and I know they are very high) - can we really sit behind sanctions, whilst an entirely peaceful, democratic and civilized country gets wasted by a maniac, right in our backyard?

Yep, I'll admit past 2 nights I've struggled to sleep, I am trying to keep a brave face in front of my partner as I don't want her to see me fearing what is unfolding right now.
So sad.
I think the people of Ukraine really thought the west would protect them but we're not (or can't)

The old order of peace in Europe is dead and we are now facing a much more hostile future with the aggression of Russia on NATO borders.last known numbers for Sub based is that they have 20 subs that carry nuclear payloads of which 6 are usually out on patrol at any given time, it's thought that there are around 576 warheads capable of being deployed from subs. So even if his land based silo's are not all functioning he still has plenty at sea

I wonder if Xi has enough sway with Putin to get him to back off. That could be a tricky one to negotiate...
Two big problems: Ukraine is not a NATO nation, and there is no UN resolution that NATO could cite as justification for entering the war.
Also, the US is the biggest NATO partner, and the vast majority of Americans are strongly opposed to military intervention in Ukraine.
They will airstrike Kiev.
