You make it sound like Ukraine is some rag tag country like Iraq or Libiya. Ukraine has a massive top 20 army in the world.

Depends what it was and if it actually threatened his or Russia's existence, a skirmish (ok not war) on the boarder for example is unlikely to resort in a nuclear conflict, scope exists for limited loss of life of NATO or Russian personnel without nuclear war.

He has a buffer state between him and NATO, but its not going to be that easy because the people don't want it.

We need to admit Sweden and Finland into NATO and play him at his own Nuclear game.

I'm not that sure that the recipient of a fatal wound really cares that much if it was a nuke, a cluster bomblet, a double tap 9mm or a simple pointy stick
I think most people if they were going to be killed would prefer it to be as quick and painless as possible

I believe the action against cluster weapons was in regards leaving behind potentially lethal ordinance that could affect the civilian population.
Arguably they were targeting civilians as those dropping them would know 100% they would not all be "used"

IE the target is key. IMO its "fine" to use thermobaric weapons against an enemy combatant but not against a population centre, if that makes sense
 
I think it was silly to announce they were providing the jets. should have just done it on the sly seems Ukraine has the same jets anyway.

But Putin has warned of serious repercussions in that eventuality, unless your going to ignore the full process then its going to be known...

What if Finland apply to join, could trigger him to attack them. Does NATO stand by and go, damn sux if only you joined a few months ago...

Nothing is clear at all here, that's the problem.

You're talking like this could only go one way - there are numerous ways it could go, and that might depend on what we choose to do, or not do right now.

I'm also not sure that the rest of the world would be happy to sit by and watch Ukraine get razed, I'm also not sure that it should - regardless of whether or not Putin wants to flex his nuclear arsenal.

Possibly true but you have to hit a dictator head on Im not going to keep repeating as feels like going round in circles.

All I can say Im disappointed and frustrated that we have to sit and watch Ukraine being taken, not just that I fear for what happens after this.

What happened to good old world police America?

America really wants to, but the NEED to avoid nuclear war is higher.
