Reading all the post it seems to me there is only one social media in the world Twitter! From Freelance writers, NBC Politics, Correspondents, small media companies all reporting every hour on Ukraine what an headache,:) In the days before the fighting started, On Tuesday Beijing repeated previous calls for both sides to find a solution through international negotiations, but it maintained its criticism of Nato, saying that regional security cannot be achieved by expanding military blocs the Chinese spokesperson also described the US as the “culprit” in the Ukraine crisis, “heightening tensions, creating panic and even hyping up the possibility of warfare”. I can believe that;). Yes, I know that there are a lot of people who just can’t change their respective views for the United States, but their political position in the world just can’t be ignored anymore. First, on sanctions list, the energy sector cannot credibly be exempted. That means higher petrol prices for American/GB/EU motorists and gas shortages in Europe. If the voters can’t be persuaded to live with the consequences of sanctions, the game will be up for those who force it in the first place.

Based on the quality of tanks and equipment being used in Ukraine, I'm still wondering how many of those supposed 6000 nukes are operational.
I mean, we've been hearing for years about how the Russian tanks would make mincemeat of the Abrams, or how the latest Russian fighter jets can evade F35s, F22s, and Typhoons. All of that seems to have been garbage.
I read on another forum that Putin is sending their knackered/old military equipment in the 1st wave so that Ukraine use up their arms without risking the newer equipment. Probs just be a bunch of balony, especially given Russia military budget isnt that big in comparison to other countries.

CHINA have unveiled their new deadly destroyer warship that can shoot down ballistic nuke missiles and satellites.

I doubt it, shooting an ICMP after it's separated from all of it's stages in space and the re-entry vehicle is heading to it's target, is an insanely difficult thing to hit. No rocket, no heat, no signature - just a big inverted spike coming out of space, shooting one of those down is akin to hitting incoming bullet with another bullet.

It's because the vast majority of the press still remain in Kyiv so cannot really blame them on that, but basically all major cities East of Dnieper river from North to South are under siege

These explosions are getting bigger and in more number now :(
Civilians in Europe getting slaughtered live on air, while the west basically sit and watch. Yes I know 'what can we do, he's got nukes!'
Good luck getting any country to ever give up its nukes now, or stopping some other countries to go full steam ahead getting their own. Putins basically taken the world back decades in under a week.

I am serious, this has shown the weakest part of our countries defense. This country has no option but to start something like this.
sheilds can be satellite defense, mobile launchers etc...
Even if you managed to shoot down a nuke inbound to the UK, it would surely therefore be most likely to detonate at that point which could still be over land causing fallout. Even if it was over the English channel it could still cause global pollution. One does not simply defend a nuke once launched. The idea is you fire one back sadly. That pretty much is the defense. Mutually assured destruction occurs (MAD) as soon as anyone fires one at someone that also has them to fire back, or fancies defending a country that doesn't.

Otherwise there is no defense. The defense is waving your willy around by doing "tests" and making the world know you HAVE nukes, which is why the big countries all have them, so we are at equilibrium. This will forever be the case surely as it is not possible for the world to all make their nukes inoperable at the same time, nor realistic to expect people would actually not be keeping some back.

Nukes complicated everything.

Deterrence of being able to destroy them before they are launched is what is needed. That means the country who unleashes them pays the ultimate price.
