Ukraine Invasion - Please do not post videos showing attacks/similar

I've been thinking for a while what the end goal here for the Russians and I cannot come up with anything rational. Even if they take Kyiv it will not legitimise Crimea or Donbas or get rid of sanctions. They cannot control such vast occupied territory because unlike Crimea and Donbas, Kyiv and the rest of Ukraine have a clear hostile disposition towards Russia.

I cannot believe that a state apparatus could make such a monumental strategic mistake as to launch a full scale invasion of Ukraine. It is just absolutely insane.

We probably will over the coming months, we have had millions of eastern Europeans move here over the last few years. It takes time, those most in need will be dealt with first. Just calm yourself

We are taking them in. We just can't take anyone and everyone. There needs to be some scheme to ensure the numbers are shared around.

I suspect that's become unclear for Putin too. Now he doesn't want to appear weak.

Megalomania mixed with people below him who dare not disagree and/or telling Putin what they think he wants to hear is a large part of how we got here IMO, possibly exacerbated if Putin has some serious health issue. Sadly there are very little opportunities here unless the Russian people take action and understandably there are factors which make that difficult as well.

Well yeah, Boris knows the UK public don't like what Russia are doing in Ukraine but he also knows the UK public would like freezing to death even less :P

The UK is dependant on Russian oil/gas in winter, it's not a case of our gas/electric bills going up if we stop buying it's a case of limited supply and potential rolling blackouts.

Putin will ignore any ICC findings even if they agree there are war crimes.

He will also just say he didn't order them.

Please can we all drop the refugee immigration stuff? it's not really that interesting or helpful, I'm sure that situation will become clearer. The priority has to be getting people out of the country first.

Putin and other Russians will become war criminals. It further seals in Putin as up there with Hitler. It means Russia won’t be able to ever dig themselves out of this with these people in charge. If they are overthrown then they could be jailed.

One of the things the video touches on is the things that Russia hasn't done, along with the fact power and internet, etc. is still functioning throughout a lot of Ukraine with seeming little attempt to stop it I think points back again to Russia wanting to compel people towards going with what they want via demonstration of the consequences... (though so far that hasn't worked in their favour).

Not too mention that this thread is moving at lightning speed. I can't see how this is being moderated at all.
