Seems abit of a scamming/read the small printscheme. With rising cost of living I can't imagine anyone but the wealthy are able to afford housing a refugee then? I know I certainly couldn't at the moment. Good on anyone who is able to afford that, especially if they take on multiple refugees.

I expect councils will take it and use it to cover funding shortfalls, many councils in poorer parts of the country have critical funding issues. So I expect this 10k per refugee will see disproportionate spread of refugees which is typical of what happens now anyway with immigration.

We already seen the stories of immigrants in Leicester living 6+ to a room, councils wont care, they will just want that 10k multiplied by however many refugees they can grab.

Exactly.. I hope the kind hearted people that take them in don't suffer financially to cover this governments rear. The £350 figure is a terrible joke and another stab in the back to the people wanting to do the right things to help.

Landlord and sympathetic aren't usually words that go together. They'll probably stick the rent up.

The reality is that most people don't have room to take in another family but for those that do and want to help then a bit of financial support is a good idea.
