No I'm not going to entertain you any further, you made accusations that you couldn't back up and then you apologized and now you want to keep going as your ego is hurt.

Your hypocrisy was called out and you want to ignore it.

Understandable.

I take it you won't be picking up *your* gun and fighting along side the Ukrainians until Russia meets terms you agree with.

Russian troll farms have been going crazy. The UN YouTube stream has some pretty special comments on its live chat, a lot of them are "India loves Russia" which is a bit odd. Plus the usual anti West, nazi, conspiracy rubbish etc.

The Indian government is supporting Russia, so it's no surprise to see a ton of Indians posting pro-Russian comments online.

I wanted Ukraine to agree not to join NATO to avoid the war.

You are utterly detached from reality.

I feel like India isn't looking at the bigger picture and is in for some unwelcome surprises when it comes to global politics in the longer run.

A video from the Russian perspective:

They are marked up with Vs which is supposed to be the more specialised units (not special forces)... no wonder they are having such a tough time in Ukraine...

I think you're absolutely right. If India thinks she can play with the big boys, she is gravely mistaken.

Sovereignty?
Small countries deciding what they can do. Standing up to bullies….as long as they do what you say. Yeah.

is it going to be freedom curry’s from now on?

any update on the 1-2000 deaths at the Theatre?

Stop typing man, it's embarrassing. The point being made is that it's very easy to sit on the side lines telling other people to fight, when the reality is people are going through hell, children are dying, men and women are dying, the one's who are living are having their lives destroyed. If you feel so strongly then yes, go and fight yourself, don't sit telling others they should though. Ukraine and Russia should end the war as soon as possible, for both sides and the world.

Tell that to the Ukraine people who, man and woman, have taken up arms to protect their land from the evil aggressor!

If they were all like you they would all be dead by now. Have some backbone for goodness sake!

When hitler rolled in Poland etc, did the people roll over for him? Did the UK kneel to him? No!

Costs are high but freedom from evil is more important.

Give Puty an inch and he will bulldoz a mile!

This wouldn't have avoided war. Joining NATO and/or posting NATO troops in Ukraine would have done. This isn't about NATO it is about stopping Ukraine becoming a prosperous, Western democracy. Ukraine has too many Russian speakers and too close ties with Russia. If it prospers, Russian's will know and the contrast with their mismanaged country will be stark.

That "deal" from the Russians is complete BS imo. It didn't offer anything in return, Russia is still acting like a bully.

Its awful, but I think Ukraine's better option is to keep fighting until the Russians go bankrupt - which needs the West to keep doing what we are doing: sanctions and supplying relevant arms, ammunition etc. Accepting what was on offer there just means Russia comes back later on. Russia is still suffering from some delusion that what they've done is acceptable, that idea needs to be well and truly knocked out of them.

So what gave ? did it end, it's been a week.

What gave? Pretty much the entire Russian advance on every front. I never said it would end in a week.
Russia will never be able to take the whole country, they’ve lost. It’s now just a case of how much more damage are the Russians willing to take economically and militarily and how badly they hurt Ukraine in the process before they throw the hat in.
Blaming the ensuing death on the Ukrainians for not caving to crazy demands is ridiculous. All the blame can be placed at Putins door alone.

said before, Zelensky has used the nato excuse Russia feeds their people to give Putin an off ramp by offering not to join. Can only hope Putin takes it so he can twist it to look like a victory to the gullible at home and abroad as objective complete.

I have no idea what you are trying to say. My point is that if India thinks she stands to gain long term by sucking up to Russia, she is gravely mistaken. Russia is notoriously untrustworthy, far more powerful than India, and better placed to exploit any relationship they might develop, to India's detriment.

India is neither powerful enough nor rich enough to play these kinds of games with the big nations. She'd do better to keep out of it.

Agreed.

That's why we are cheering from the sidelines rather than joining in. That's why we are begging the Saudi's to open the taps just a little bit more, so we can fill our cars and heat our homes with the blood of Yemeni's Children. That's why we like having our clothes built by slaves.
Get out of here with your moral grand standing. We will let evil prevail if it benefits us and in this instance it doesn't benefit us.

Having buffer countries with no nato is what got us into this mess. Checkmate if russia invate nato or nato invade russia, it makes and keeps the buffer countries weak and easy to invade (unless putin signs that it’s sovereign and non-russian territory) just as we've seen before.
Do you any examples of these supposed buffer states?

Unfortunately this is the result of a far right BJP/RSS Hindu nationalist government, that’s trying to put negative spin on secular thinking and western ideals. It’s utterly pathetic and honestly would needs its own thread to go into.

It’s regressed indian politics and then global image over the last ten years considerably. It makes me so sad.

Sorry for slight detail I just wanted to clarify. Your average Indian person hates modi but cannot speak out very freely about it due to backlash and fear of being treated as an “anti national”.
