Seen the Poseidons do similar at times - though they usually don't show up properly on ADSB and/or turn off transponder once in the mission area.

Last time I saw them doing that with AWACS on station from what I could gather, though an assumption on my part, NATO was moving nukes out of Germany for some reason under heavy escort.

EDIT: Russian strategic bomber net has been very active last couple of hours - possibly they've been doing patrol flights into NATO air space in the region. (Though I've seen no QRA activation but not really been looking for it).

Its obviously an intentional act having it visible as with all the others patrolling along the borders. Just not seen that particular area being patrolled in a visible way before. Thanks for the possible explanation :)

There is a Boeing Poseidon MRA1 just up out of Scotland seems to be heading that way - so possible suspected Russia surface or sub-surface traffic they are watching. EDIT: Looks like it might have been doing a patrol off the west coast and now diverting - turning its transponder on through mixed airspace.

Interesting amount of tanker aircraft up around the borders of Ukraine - must be a lot of air traffic we aren't seeing on flight radar.

Looks like another Boeing Poseidon MRA1 coming in from the Norwegian Sea - think it is different to the one which popped up earlier but I didn't note the ICAO/registration. I'm guessing Russia is moving ships or subs around in the region.

Would Ukraine be able to push up to Belgorod (you take our we take yours scenario) and be able to take that in turn forcing maybe forces from the east away?

What realistic plans have Ukraine got right now in terms of offensives?

I doubt they'd do anything like that as would be costly and they need all their troops and equipment at home.

Analysts seem to think the 'withdrawals' from the north are just troops being moved into the east to cut down south and then have the forces in the south that would have gone for Odessa (and those in Mariupol if it falls) to head north. It'd be an attempt to cut off the core of the Ukrainian army that's been in place along the 2014 borders of Donetsk and Luhansk this whole time.
Report from Sky news shows Ukraine moving troops to counter this in the East

Der Spiegel had a report from Sumy showing the counter offensive by Ukraine inflicted heavy losses so I imagine a lot of this 'withdrawal' the Russians talk about were those forced back or destroyed. The remnants being reformed to head east while forces around Kyiv left to tie up defenders there.
Mathieu von Rohr on Twitter: "Dear SPIEGEL‘s Christoph Reuter reports from Trostyanets the first city Ukrainians fully recaptured from Russian occupiers - the video shows massive destruction https://t.co/yikmGHhhU6" / Twitter

Horrendous going to take years to rebuild.

Yep.
The Russian media are blaming it on Nazis, they're saying the Ukrainians destroyed it and they were using human shields. I've no doubt that both sides used human shields to some extent, some of those Azov people are bad news, but to suggest Ukraine destroyed it is ridiculous, I doubt they even have the firepower nor ammo to waste destroying cities.

Haha
The Ukrainian farmer memes are real funny, the Russian army will never see the end of them

Just watching a Russian military plane flying south of Helsinki.

Thought they were not allowed up there at moment

There is a Tupolev Tu-154M going the other way out of Kaliningrad as well. Those Il-76s have been going in and out of Kaliningrad now and again not sure why - possibly transferring troops out to use in Ukraine.

Nothing to stop the military flights as long as they stay out of other country's airspace.
