Really unbelievable, but these clowns are the aggressors even they never see it.

So if Ukraine had a few cruise missiles and took out that new bridge to Crimea and a few other supply routes, they'd all be crying foul too!

They see it, they just don't give a hoot. It's all a show and dance.

Will the UK now cut off foreign aid to the countries sanction busting with Russia? India for example? Would they even cancel the new and shiny trade deal?

I suspect that would depend on the aid. Humanitarian aid I suspect would continue. An organic disconnect of trade such as technology aid.

The question also goes - with commercial companies using large amounts of offshore IT skills, the likes of InfoSys , underpin a large portion of UK and western IT services. I suspect that modern consumers concerned with where their money goes will ultimately shy away from India and countries that support Putin's tyranny. It won't stop all but it will certainly be a quantified risk as part of service operation if they suddenly loose their IT skills or their services security becomes compromised as a result.

The chancellor is married to the daughter of the InfoSys founder and that's where his family money comes from.

I saw an announcement (from the UK gov I think) that we/the US were sending Ukraine 'advanced' air defence equipment. Has it been said what this means exactly (perhaps purposefully not)? Maybe they are talking about the already announced/possibly in use Starstreak systems?

I noticed also that the US have stopped announcing their rough approximations of the state of the Ukrainian air force - I think it's been a couple of weeks now? Hopefully they're just obscuring it for Russia rather than Ukraine not having much left...

I think its Sky Sabre , and yes - UKR air does seem to have not a lot left, but then again i dont think RUS air has much in theatre either.

Given the situation you'd have thought Russia would have multiple layers of systems covering the border and point defences for strategic targets like Belgorod. Then again though the recent sat images still show poor precautions taken at many of their air bases near Ukraine seemingly with the assumption they won't get hit even after that one attack early on.
But that's assuming the Russian operatives are 100% professional and competent. Also lets not forget both sides are using the same sort of aircraft and it's a safe assumption to make that some Ukrainian pilots can speak Russian. Imagine your a Russian radar operator and your well behind enemy lines, you see what looks like a Russian helicopter approaching you and a pilot who can speak Russian they might have just assumed it was a friendly.

Welcome to our Globalised world ;)

I liked my trips out to Pune - the food is awesome.

If you're saying that globalisation and the rise of the Renminbi as a global trade currency, then impacts the capabilities of the sanction system you're correct. However as I've pointed out before, it wont be lost on China that using the Renminbi as a sanctions-by-pass will destabilise it. China being conservative in risk and wanting control will not be happy with that medium term.

Those banking on upsetting the globalised world forget that countries are built on stability.. New tools will appear to replace sanctions and fundamental trade demands will push for regulation and stability. It will also place China in control of Russia and India allowing all the economic weapons afforded to the USA with the dollar, the EU with the euro etc, for the Renminbi to be weaponised..

"The Kremlin says that the strike on the fuel depot does not create comfortable conditions to continue peace talks, Reuters reports."

HAHA these guys.
Not sure if they just have a sense of humour or actually serious. An attack on home soil after what they've done/still doing in Ukraine and "it's a threat to peace talks".

If it wasn't so depressing and horrible it would be funny how bad Russia are at manipulation and general action. Its like watching a child organise a war. The fuel depot attack wasn't even a remotely good attempt at a false flag. I know that much of what Russia does is to lie to their own people but come on son, try harder.

More the "we can attack you but you're not allowed to attack us" as a form of authoritarian attempting to maintain a "we tell you, you have no choice" posturing that the Kremlin is too keen on.
