You got some Launch Pad (BLP<GO>) NEWS scraper thing going then? Not my area but some real whiz folks in our office.

After seeing the video and images from Bucha and only imagining what other areas are like I’m rapidly softening my opposition to UN or NATO intervention now, this can’t be allowed to go on - nuclear weapon threats or not.

If Russia withdraws from Western Ukraine its time for UN/NATO to enforce a no-fly zone over at least that area, potentially with a warning to Putin that any Russian troops trying to get back in on the ground in that area will be attacked, screw a Russian veto.

God only knows what’s going on in the South East and East - there’s probably thousands raped, murdered and executed in Mariupol, Kharkiv, Sumy, Kherson and Zaporizhzhya

In 20-30 years Putin will be 89-99 years old (or more likely dead) so unlikely it will drag on that long.

In fact if the Russian people find out on mass the truth about what's been happening in Ukraine his 2024 re-election hopes are toast, supressing opposition wouldn't be enough.

You really think he wouldn’t just rig the election anyway?

I have access to relays of the Eikon & BBG terminals, but not exclusive access.

I don't get this 'want to give..' part - does the UK require permission from someone?

I guess they need to get other NATO members onboard, because if Ukraine manage to sink some large ships then Russia will 100% treat this as an escalation, plus if these are Harpoons then i guess would need US approval to transfer.

NATO need to be the one setting the red lines before Putin does. Then if he crosses those red lines the fault lies with him.

I know it's a push-pull situation when it comes to Russia selling oil and we buying it. But Putin's threat about making people pay in Rubles might be the final straw for the west, as european countries will feel their standard of living drop more rapidly than Russians standard of living.

This buy/sell situation is the same with the US/China. Both are locked in to dealing with each other unless they diversify, which China as been the most successful at doing.

I don’t believe we have the kind of anti-ship missiles Ukraine is likely to be after, I assume they want/need missiles they can launch from land to attack a ship which is something we haven’t had in years.

There is still a limited number of Harpoons but that would be complex to install the fire control systems, etc onto a ship.

There’s the Helicopter mounted Sea Venom which might be an option, it started being deployed last year.

There’s also the Martlet system which Thales is working on but I don’t believe its in actual live use yet.

Presumably we would need to buy some suitable missiles from elsewhere, or get those Argentine lads who managed to fire Exocet Missiles from a truck in 1982 on board

Christ just saw some pics from Bucha, one guy dead on a bicycle, people with their hands tied behind their back, a womans hand with painted nails...
Russian ********. :(
Just horrible.

I'm prretty sure none of this was meant to be as public as it is now. Putin planned a quick victory over Ukraine, and if that would have happened all this information may not have been surfaced

Do you want nato to directly attack Russia if it shuts off the gas?

what if China shuts down its ports and stops selling any to the outside world, does NATO attack them too?

This sounds an awful lot like when the US was attacking countries to keep the oil flowing

That first guy has already spent way too much time on the front lines - start of a 1000 yard stare and compartmentalising everything. Gonna have some serious trauma to deal with when/if this is over and he survives.

I saw a video a few weeks back of a Ukrainian soldier with shell shock, he was in a hospital corridor with his entire body shaking just staring at the floor, I haven't seen shell shocked soldiers other than in WWII documentaries. I think the 1000 yard stare is when they're coming very close to losing their mind, many soldiers in Vietnam had it, if you search google image for 'Vietnam soldier' almost every single image has at least 1 person with the 1000 yard stare.

The 1000 yard stare for those unfamiliar.

I suggest you guys that are blowing off steam about war crimes and alike go sign up to fight because and I hope and pray there's still no direct intervention.
Civilian casualties are part of war don't act outraged or surprised.
It's hypocrisy to go in all guns blazing here when 1000x worse stuff occurs across Africa and probably China.
I hope it drives the Russian citizens to act. There's probably a few military officers planning what they can so to Putin as I type.

There's a difference between civilians getting killed as a result of war and out right murder which is what we are seeing as the Russians flee
