I suggest you guys that are blowing off steam about war crimes and alike go sign up to fight because and I hope and pray there's still no direct intervention.
Civilian casualties are part of war don't act outraged or surprised.
It's hypocrisy to go in all guns blazing here when 1000x worse stuff occurs across Africa and probably China.
I hope it drives the Russian citizens to act. There's probably a few military officers planning what they can so to Putin as I type.

Sorry but this is a world of difference, Russia is clearly now acting in a way that we've seen before in Nazi Germany and more recently in the Balkans with attempts to eradicate entire towns.
That crossed a line in the 90's - it certainly should cross a line in 2022 - its time Putin was shown that the world isn't going to sit back and give him carte-blanche to act as he wants.

I think right now we should cobble together something approaching a usable anti-ship system and mass produce it so Ukraine can just blanket the Black Sea fleet until Russia has no ships left.

Ought to also start mass production of heavy artillery, MLRS and long-range G2A systems so we can either give it to them or replace equipment in Eastern Europe so that they can transfer their more familiar systems over to Ukraine.

Also wouldn't go amiss if we found a way to support them in trying to disable the Kerch bridge.

Yes it does as now more fuel will be extracted to replace that which was needlessly burned, it's not like all those cars/tractors/trucks etc are going to stop driving just because some fuel was wasted.

There is a war going on with thousands dead, from a numbers point of view it's likely all offset by reduced numbers actually using fuel

Executions are not part of war. It is why it is a warcrime.

Next you'll be claiming genocide and ethnic cleansing are just a part of war.

They have literally been the goal, and reasoning, behind wars for centuries, if not, millennia.

War is never civilised but as Mr Jack said there are differences between war and genocide.

Anything goes is never the rule except for conflicts involving some level of tribal hatred and that does usually result in genocide.

To compare any of this to gaming tactics is more than a little crass and failure to under standard the long rooted history and politics of the region and at least the Cold War period.

Unfortunately the one thing you never can underestimate is ability of human beings to screw each other over for power, no matter how many others suffer for it.

I won't post the tweet you can find it yourself if you want because of the acompanying graphic video but the text reads

Creepy shots from Bucha. In one of the houses, the invaders set up a headquarters with two rooms: in the first there was a torture room, in the second, civilians were shot in the back of the head while bound.

I imagine lots more stories like this will keep coming out in the next few weeks

I don't know who I'm paraphrasing here but I heard a guy/professor reminding everyone that we in the west are 21st century people. We have 21zt century ideals/standards/moralities.

Russia is still 19th/20th century at best.
They're not on the same plane of enlightenment as "us"
Probably can say the same for China.

As far as I am concerned, Russia can stay sanctioned for this century.

And I note the teen fortnite shooters contributions.

One thing I was wondering was why didnt more civilians not escape it was days until Russia reached some of these places?

I appreciate it a very difficult task but it when you see convoys of buses late on you wonder where was that at the start.

Seems in the last 3 days Ukrainian forces have captured 2x TOS-1A will full payloads. No wonder the Russians are legging it as quickly as they can.
