Guys & Gals its been a few years or more since I graded my system,
My Current syastem is: i5 3570K Ivy Bridge
32Gigs of DDR3
Nvida GeForce GTX960
4 HHD 2SHD
1 blueray 1 dvd rw

As you can see my system is outdated and needs to be upgraded.
My budget is around £1000 and i want the best bang for my bucks deal, dont care if its AMD or Intel
Any Segestions please...
Probably need to renew everything.
Thanks for any advise
Jon

no the blueray could go
i notice most of the new cases don't have dvd slots and i hardly ever use it any more.
i could probably reuse the psu but for cost of a new one why bother
So a complete new system really
its just to surf the web and a few older games really, but still want the best i can afford

i'm looking at this set up atm

SKU: CP-3C9-AM
1 X ASUS ROG Strix X570-E Gaming II (AMD AM4) DDR4 X570 ATX Motherboard - £289.99

Intel build

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £888.85 (includes delivery: £0.00)

Add the bargain 12400f
Intel Core i5 12400F, S 1700, Alder Lake, 6 Cores, 12 Threads, 2.5GHz, 4.4GHz Turbo, 18MB Cache, 65W, Retail £169 (not sold by OCUK)
Also the psu can be hand for £70 at another store saving £45 over OCUK price!

Use your old case and bluray as long as the case can fit the cooler in or sue the stock cooler.

The 16 core is pointless for gaming, the gpu is trash and so is the psu.

I actually miss having a CD drive .... can't upload CD's to iTunes anymore. Seriously thinking of putting it all back in the old NZXT Phantom I kept.

There is nothing wrong with AMD's chips (the 5800x is a great chip for my needs) but you asked for the best bang for your buck and Intel hold that mantle atm.

I'd recommend Corsair LPX RAM, and get 3200Mhz, Intel chips don't really benefit from the high Mhz w/ RAM.
Change that PSU for a Corsair one, probably the RM750.
Would change the case aswell - either the Corsair 4000X or Corsair 4000D, but that's upto you.

Also just taking a quick look, it looks like that CPU cooler doesn't work without getting an additional bracket, if it exists.
Needs to support LGA1700 for Alder Lake.

Just buy the
Arctic Freezer i35 CO Intel CPU Cooler as it has skt 1700 support in the box.

The NZXT psu is good especially at £70 from other places. Used one myself in a build for a friend.

for the things you said you did @Dr-Jon 32 gig of ram is a waste of money and as pointed out by 0007 no need to buy faster than 3200mhz.
