Hi all. so i have just installed this new mobo with all the drives and software etc but i did notice that with the onboard sound Supreme FX there is no software to control this like graphic equaliser etc. I have tried to install Sonic Studio 3 but it says its incompatible. I used to have a standalone creative labs sound card but with my graphics card taking up 3 slots i now cannot access the pci-e slot :(

any help on this is appreciated .

Thanks

Why can't the soundcard go into the bottom large PCIE? Its 4 slots inbetween the bottom and top PCIE slot.
Onboard sound should be avoided.

That is a question I asked in another thread. So I can put the sound card in the bottom pcie x16 slot? Will this work as it would in the pcie x1 slot?

Thanks

Yes it will work in any slot that can accept the card in, so a 1x pcie card will go into 1x, 4x, 8x and 16x slots.

My sound card a pcie 1x is sat in a 16x slot too .

When you get your sound card working remember to disable the onboard sound in the BIOS and remove all drivers for it.

Installed it today and working great :) well happy that i dont have to use that sh!tty on board sound ;)

May I ask what sound card it is? I will be upgrading soon myself and was looking to whether I should keep my Soundblaster Xfi Fatal1ty, is onboard sound still that bad these days, in comparison to a card like that?
