What is fundamentally flawed on your car?

That BMW skimped on the charging rate equipment on the X5 45E. I know most hybrids have small batteries but this one has a 24kW battery, the same as a leaf, and only has snail charging. Which is fine to a degree when you plug it in when you get home and it (just) is fully charged by morning but would have liked to have taken advantage of the cheap electric between 12 and 4.30am more and when you are out at a supermarket with free charging, hardly seems worth to put 3kWh in while you shop.

I know this sounds bad BUT I can't think of a fundamental flaw with the SRT8... little odds and sods etc... but nothing winds me up at all...

I suppose if there was something I'd have liked would've been a ZF 8 Speed auto and not a Merc NAG1 5 speed gearbox... but it's nothing for me to worry about.

McLaren: The rear deck vents are magical but when washing the car they hold about a litre of water. That water is then deposited all over the rear of the car when you open the boot lid. That means you’ve got to remember to open the boot after washing the car but before drying it. Irritating! They do eventually drain I think but veeeery slowly.

Range Rover: Water ingress and rust. Why oh why did they make them in such a way that they trap water absolutely everywhere and from such poor quality metal that they dissolve at an alarming rate?!

Things which drive me up the wall with most vehicles I've owned - lacking accessibility and ease of changing bulbs and unnecessary complications with changing wing mirrors (though I've not needed to change any yet I have thought of putting aftermarket ones on for various reasons), the poor quality or lack of factory applied corrosion protection and/or poor quality metals - or at least lower quality than they could be.

Polo: no grab handles above the doors, and the arm rest can’t be lifted up in stages. It’s either all the way up, or all the way down and it’s too low when closed :(

I was going to be silly and say the Caterham is missing doors, etc. but I'll be serious for a change.

Audi Q7 hybrid: the battery is too small. For such a big, heavy car, the 17.9kWh battery (14.4kWh usable) is rubbish. Both the BMW X5 and Merc GLE has it beat.

But you have the worlds only Hyper+car. Be happy, stuff of dreams!

It’s the one with six gears and 115bhp too. Has to be some madman at VW that came up with that monster.

Oh also it doesn’t have climate control, I’m adding that to the list.

I hear the Chiron was their attempt at creating a version for the masses but frankly I’d be embarrassed to drive the Chiron as it pales.

Have to press ok on a couple of stupid alerts every time I start the car.
No boot release button on the boot, or closing strap/handle.

2016 Ford Mondeo and its stupid stop start system. It honestly feels like an afterthought with my specific engine / gearbox combo (the 2.0 petrol ecoboost with automatic transmission).

Essentially mine only keeps the engine stopped if I keep my foot on the brake. So as I approach lights, breaking to come to a complete stop, the engine stops. The instant I take my foot of the brake the engine restarts, even after applying the handbrake. The only way to get around this is to either keep the brake pushed for the full time of the stop, or knock my automatic into netural, somewht removing the "automatic" nature of the car.

Other than that, it's great, but I really wish there was a better solution to the above.

Doesnt your car have a hold feature when you quickly pump the brake pedal once you have come to a stop, so you don’t need to hold the car on the brakes?

I dont think so. I certainly dont have any kind of auto hold button. I've googled it before and tried the "push brake pedal hard" suggestion that other brands use but that doesnt do it. I must admit I've never tried a quick pump though but it's certianly not mentioned in the book and it really does seem like the only two options are to keep brake pressue, or drop it into netural. I'll give that a try, but it certainly feels like the system was an afterthought.

You know you’re going to be out looking for the nearest hill tonight to try that :p

2017 Ford B-Max Zetec Navigator 125bhp. I am very pleased with the car apart from one thing, you have to remove the headlights to change the bulbs. Good luck doing that on a dark roadside!!

Tiny glovebox because the fusebox wasn't moved for RHD configuration. You can't even fit the user manual in there without folding/scrunching it over.
