Hi there,

I need some advice on a graphics card upgrade path, I’ve looked at the second-hand market and seen some cheap GTX1070 for around £180/200 but looking on OCUK I can get a 3050 for a bit more.

I don’t play a lot of games just LOL, mostly due to the current card I’m using 1030 2gb and would like to get a little upgrade to play a bit more demanding games what’s the best card I can get for a budget around £250

Thanks in advance

The 3050 is a decent card, but it is quite a bit weaker than a RX 6600 (except ray tracing), which is usually similarly priced.

The next down is a 6500 XT which is a similarly sized step down, especially so if you have a PCI-E 3.0 motherboard. I'd go for a 3050 or 6600 if you can afford it since they're much stronger.

The 1070 is pretty similar to the 3050.

Thanks for the reply,

i will have a look at all the suggestions thank you, I did forget to mention I have an LG 27GN950 with the other mentioned cards will the monitor be better with Nvidia card because of the G-sync or no difference?

Your monitor is also freesync I believe.
