I think I raised a thread asking this a couple of years ago, but I gave up on getting a new card 18 months ago. I see the 3080Ti FEs are instock and, whilst cheaper than they were, they're still a huge chunk of cash.
I game 3440x1440 and still play the same games such as Skyrim (heavily modified, Mass Effect games, STALKER ANOMALY etc). I've recently discovered Witcher 3 and have sank many hours into that, and with the game maxed out (minus hair works) I'm typically getting 50fps, with dips to the 30s in very demanding places. Once more games start to use UE5 I might try more new games, but I've not been enamoured by many new releases which is often why I stick to what I know and like.
I'm still running an 8700k @ 4.8Ghz and have no plans to update my system other than a new GPU.
Just wondering what would be a good shout? I'm keen to see ray tracing in action and may one day give VR a go, so future proofing is a (albeit not super high) factor.
Money wise and spec wise, the 3080Ti is probably over kill? Consider a 3080 TUF or even a 3070? It hasas to be nvidia as I'm committed to GSync.
Cheers!
