Hi all.

Just upgraded my rig but I'm having an issue upon start up. I press the power button and the pc powers up the fans spin up to 100% for around 20 seconds then slow down a few seconds later the display kicks in and the pc finally posts the bios screen.

I've updated the bios to the one from end of march. Using windows 11 I've updated all drivers etc.

I'm guessing there's a setting in the bios but unsure as to which. I've seen online others with similar issue with Asus boards but none have the solution. Other than that it runs great and cool haven't messed with overclocking yet.

Stress tested fine. Xmp enabled

12900kf,Asus strix z690-e gaming, 64gb vengeance ram 5600 wd black pci-e4 storage 1tb and a 2tb and 4tb hd. Strix LC ii 360 aio.

In JayzTwoCents video when he was messing around he had some super long boots too, seems to be a ddr5 thing, maybe they'll fix it later.

Thanks looks like this could be whats happening mines 4x 16gb of 5600mhz sticks will do some troubleshooting when I get the chance. Other than that everything runs well

Possibly DDR5 as suggested.
Most people running on DDR4, regardless of motherboard aren’t reporting many issues, afaik.

Is quick boot enabled? That doesn’t retrain the memory every boot and will speed things up.

Enable it and it’ll just assume the previous timings and POST.

Also, is there a read out showing what it’s POSTING during the delay? It’ll be stuck on something like LED for RAM during the process, giving you a hint as to what’s causing the issue.

Agree that it’s probably DDR5 being slow to train. BIOS update should fix it but this is what bugs early adopters need to take into consideration when buying brand new tech.
