Graphics card upgrade

Hi all,

I'm currently running a XFX R7770 graphics card with 1Gb memory on a Z96-HD3 motherboard. This has served me well for the last 6 years or so. I just bought a spanky new 34 inch wide screen monitor and would now like to upgrade the graphics card. I don't really want to spend more than £200 as I'm not a hard core gamer. The only games I tend to play are 'They are Billions' and the 'Command & Conquer' series.

What would be a logical upgrade for this kind of money?

That's only AMD 6500XT money at the moment, which isn't particularly powerful but would be an improvement i'm sure.

Just checked hardware unboxed review of rtx 3050(as newer than the 6600). 12 game av 1080p had the 3050 108fps, 6600 141 fps, so 6600 roughly 30% faster than the 3050,5 at 1440p was 74 an 93 fps so 25% faster

Yep, just to confirm that. The 3050 is a step down from the 6600 and in the current market appears to be overpriced for the performance it offers, for whatever reason. I'm not sure how their ray tracing compares.
