That's with an open window in winter. Any PC that starts using 500W+ is going to hear up a room quickly. Many consume a lot more than that. Lower power consumption has no downside.

The AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT Reference Design card not only looks great, but also achieves excellent performance, matching the GeForce RTX 3090, but at much better pricing. Because of good optimization and surprisingly good energy efficiency, AMD's thermal solution works very well, too.
Reference review, didn't think there would be one.

Fairly mixed bag of results in that review but when a game seems to take advantage of RDNA2 the 6950XT surpasses even the 3090 Ti, Quite impressive.
