Had this a while now and I have to say I'm disappointed.

It's suction is fine. But it blocks so easily.
Hair on the roller blocking pick up.
Dust in the bin clogging it.
Anything any size blocks in the entrance to the dirt chamber.
Emptying is a pain. I have to (every time) put my fingers in between the chamber edge and the central filter and pull dust off.

My eufy robot vacuum is so so much better than this cordless.

Are they all this bad?

I have a Bosch one pretty good, I hear Shark ones are good.

I'd avoid Dyson personally I think a bit like Hotpoint they make tat these days and are just riding off the perception of quality from their brand.

I can't comment on Dysons you buy today, but my 4 year old cordless Dyson still works as well as the day we bought it. As long as the filters are kept washed / replaced and you give the bin a proper cleanout when you empty it, I've had no issues with mine. (Occassionally I need to dismantle the roller heads too to clear any build up of hair or crap, but they are intended to be servicable).

Just l looking at the bin of the shark it l looks like it will lie avoid half the issues with this vax

I have a dyson stick and it’s good, no match for a corded Miele Cylinder but does for a quick run round. The bag less stuff annoys me as you end up clearing filters etc which I find much more of a hassle than simply swapping the bag when full from the Miele which doesn’t loose much suction until the bag is at bursting point!

I have that vax and it is fine, never had the issues you are mentioning. I replaced my Dyson with it and its been much better, I did experience the issues you mention on the Dyson..

Have a Shark Stick cordless and its hopeless, works ok ish on carpet but useless on solid floors.
Also have a Dyson V10, or something, and it is way better, but battery was awful and it got clogged constantly, now it claims to be clogged even though I have stripped and cleaned it.

got a couple of gtech ones blade type and small hand held inherited of inlaws when they passed to be quite honest on there performance i doubt i would ever spend real money on them . i think the upright one has been used maybe a dozen times and unless its fine dust forget it, and the handheld couldnt suck ....well you get the idea.

expect fun and games this weekend while we were cleaning there house out (no pun intended ) we found a brand new gtech hedge cutter still sealed in the box with batteries , see if that will fail as well. both were in there late 70s and i can only assume they must have ordered them off tv.. (not computer) lol.

Does it perform better than the Dyson? I’m tempted to get a shark next time.
No, I don't think so. I think they perform much the same. Maybe the Shark has the edge on carpets and the Dyson on our tile floors but claims of any significant difference are rubbish.

I still have the Dyson V8 by the way. I intended to move it to the garage and use it as a car vacuum only but it's still wall mounted downstairs and I find myself using it more for the stairs (it's much lighter) and tile floors and I use the Shark on carpets. Final random point, the LED lights on the Shark are more useful than you'd think.

We've just switched to a shark cordless from a Miele C3 and wish we did it sooner. The difference is night and day picking up pet hair from carpet and almost embarrassing what it picked up on the first use! Much easier to use, although on boost mode the battery dies drain quickly but normal mode easily does the whole house.

you need the miele with the pet powered head - as we have on the equivalent aeg wired machine.

for car use, and also cobwebs on ceiling long hoses & tubes on traditional corded machines still gives them practicality, so won't be changing soon.

Annoying thing was I was considering a shark when got this vax. It had decent reviews too!

A robot vacuum shouldn't be better than a cordless!

Maybe ill wait until black Friday

I just threw our Dyson V8 cordless out - useless device, never worked, clogged constantly. Tried different filters, changing constantly - agree with comment re Dyson being cheap tat (and have a family member who works for their engineering team!)
