To be fair they do appear to be asking for heavy discounts on the oil since Russia isn't really in a position to say no.

Gas is the bigger problem though since it's far more difficult to store and transport, but equally also far more difficult to stop using quickly.

They are, but Russia is still getting a substantially higher price than it was pre-invasion.

We did start this war, not Putin, the war started on 14/04/14 by Ukrainian nazi regime (backed by nato) in order to prevent the secession of Donbas.

Was that before or after the Russians sent their troops to have a holiday in Ukraine complete with all their equipment.

Back in the real world, what kylew_is_back really mean't to say was...

in April 2014 Russian funded and trained mercenaries entered the Donbass and began a pre planned strategy to begin a civil war in the Donbass with the ultimate aim of annexing it to Russia. As per the UN's and Ukrainian's evidence given to the ICJ in March this year which led to a ruling in which the ICJ demanded Russia halt it's war.
Russia offered no evidence to the contrary. During the following 8 years, Russian backed forces committed acts of aggression against the civilian population and bombed Ukranian schools and hospitals over the contact line. Ukraine fought to regain IT'S internationally recognised and legally binding territory. Thousands died. A ceasefire was agreed which Russia broke by sending in weapons and continued to shell areas inside Ukraine in an attempt to say to the world "you broke it". Russian then pulled out of the ceasefire... and then a few months later started an all out war against Ukraine.

Now you can believe the UN and ICJ, made up of people from all over the world with extremely well regarded and well experienced persons with no skin in the game, or you can believe Putin. Because that's what it comes down to in the end. It's not the UK or US vs Russia... it's internationally recognised institutions all saying the same thing.

The west have escalated nothing, they started nothing, they are providing Ukraine with the means of keeping child murdering rapists at bay.

..........and now you're attempting to belittle me by "talking down" to me as if I'm somehow unaware of the Ukraine situation. Presumably you've done this because I've pointed out the the way you treat others and all this does is show me that, yet again, your "discussion style" seems to be designed around throwing insults (not that you think they are of course) rather than wanting an actual discussion with someone, which means that any thoughts I may have had about attempting to have a discussion are, quite frankly, a waste of my time so why bother.

Just remember before you reply, all I did was point out was how your posting style comes across and why it harms discussion ;)
