Anyone used the online booking service for Ford please ? Just prices are vastly different to that quoted when calling ford dealer directly

My Ecoboost Focus needs new pads and discs at front

Phoned local dealer quoted £360 ish all in

If I book online via Ford website it quotes me (after choosing car by reg and dealer) £219 even if excludes VAT (doesn't say one way or other) it's vastly different

I phoned dealer back up to check they gave right price and they requoted £360 and when mentionned online I had verbal version of shrug shoulders so I guess I book online just wondering if anyone else had noticed such a difference in prices ?

If you book online confirm the price when you drop the car off. I had a Vauxhall dealer try to scam me out of £3-400 in an almost identical situation (was having all discs and pads changed).
 
Yeah was expecting about 250 from an independent so if I can get done at dealer with original parts for same price I'll try the dealer but online I'll make sure I have a copy of the quote/price booked at !
 
I think this is a Ford thing. I had something similiar with my Mondeo where it was having a normal service with them and I got the call saying it needed its rear brakes doing (I had a suspicion it would) so had done some googling on price. On the call I Was quoted somewhere in the region of £500 to have them done which I thought seemed excessive. A quick please hold and pointing them towards this page https://www.ford.co.uk/owner/service-and-maintenance/essential-service/repairs/brakes had it down to the quoted £239 in minutes along with a line along the lines of "sorry we didnt think to check if yours qualified"...........

Other than that my ford experience has been pretty positive, but it certainly seems they have an "inflated" repair cost they hope people will just agree to compared to their true priciing.
