My son has an led strip (reel) that he wants attaching to the back of his varnished wood desk to light up the wall.

It's not self adhesive and no obvious nail holes. Is there some kind of clear rectangular tube that can be nailed to the desk and allow the led strip to be threaded through (or any other ideas) ?. Curtains rub along part of the desk edge so self adhesive probably won't last long at all.

Self adhesive always gets defeated by mavity anyway.

You're looking for a diffuser, which as you say can bolt to the desk and thread the led strip through. Or you can get these clip things that will hold up the led strip - they're more for under counter though.

Difficult searching but found a rectangular silicon tubing with included thread to pull the led strip through. If I oversize I can use small nails to attach :)
