Baby seat for a 2 year old

Bit like helmets and plug sockets. They are all (bar dodgy ones) made to a minimum standard the rest is features and badges.

Surely a 2 year old is beyond being a baby? child seat would surely be a bettwr shout.

The spin ones are amazing, we have a Joie Spin, it's great mainly because he gets his independence from being able to climb up and in without being thrown in.

Britax Romer Dualfix i-size. (+1 for the spinny comment above).

My youngest has just upgraded from Dualfix to the Britax Romer Kidfix.

Their seats are great, safe, secure and very easy to get the kids in and out.

Isn't 4+ a different group of car seat?
I have a Maxi-Cosi Titan (it was ex-display at Smyths for ~£120) and it does 9 months to 12 years old (wtf lol).

Joie Spin sounds alright if you really value them helping themselves/use the car a lot, but it is a crazy amount of $$ for something that only goes up to 18KG.

Ah okay. Our Cybex Sirona Z only goes up to 4 too.

Not sure how I feel about a seat that covers such a wide age range.

Baby seat recommendations for a 2 year old? Thanks.

I'd look at the Recaro products, the Young Sport Hero would suit you, as it would last until they can be sat alone. I speak from actual experience how good they are, especially the extra side impact protection, my son was in the rear of the car in his Recaro Monza Nova 2 when we were hit pretty hard in the side right where he was sitting in the back, the head support really helped stop and sudden neck/head movements, and the impact to his side/ribs was also lessened due to it.

I'd never scrimp on a safety seat in a car, especially given how stupid a great deal of drivers are.

Don’t use a baby seat for a 2 year old would be my advice.

Depends on the child. Our 2 year old is still in his group 0+ seat because he is absolutely tiny (10kg). Better to have a seat which fits the child than getting one which is too big because of an arbitrary age guide.

Yea, dont agree with this at all, whilst you are correct they are all built to a "minimum" set of standards, the key word in this is "minimum". All car tyres are built to a "minimum" set of standards as well, but theres a huge difference between budgets and high end, jsut like there is with car seats.

The adac site is great for comparing car seats (you will need to use something like chrome to translate it) as they actually test / rank them all and there are some real differences on safety.

I have this one as well and I also recommend it. It ranks highliy in the ADAC testing as well;

We have two of Dualfix, one in each car and one of them over 6 years old and still good but showing obvious signs of wear

For my older son we use Cybex, again one in each car. The model we're using isn't suitable for a 2 year old because they replaced the Britax for when my eldest needed a bigger seat but in terms of the brand quality one is 3 years old and the other about 2 years old and both have been great with zero signs of wear

We used a Concord Reverso Plus until they grew out of it, moving up to a BeSafe iZi Flex Fix i-Size
Keep your kids in a rear-facing child seat as long as possible would be my advice.

I think I'll stick to my MaxiCosi Titan having looked at a few of the recommendations here. It has recline, suitable till 12, ISOFIX and can be had around the 140 mark.
