What TV shows are you currently watching

I could never get past the terrible Negan casting on TWD - I think JDM is a great actor, just horribly miscast as Negan. Think I stopped watching an episode or two after 'that' Glen episode.

Hmm, I think I stopped at S9. Maybe I should power through if it's actually going to wrap things up?

(just checked, it was only a few eps into S9... so would be almost 3 more seasons to watch. Worth it?)
Is it worth it? No :D

More of the same, but as you're up to S9, may as well finish the story. I'm invested enough to see it through.

Negan is awesome! One of the best baddies we've seen in TWD. Truly menacing and capable of anything, although I doubt you'd appreciate who he is today in the series.

I've conversant with Negan from the graphic novels, JDM was too much of a nice guy actor to pull it off for me. Also frankly, it had been going in circles a while so took it as a good excuse to quit a bad habit :D

How do you mean?

I haven't read the comics, so don't know how he was portrayed, but he certainly wasn't nice - well, when he was first introduced.

In the TV show, Negan is still a bad ass, but is going through a redemption arc - Maggie has almost forgiven him and they are teaming up for their own show - wtf?!

I think I stopped after season 3. Just same tired stuff over and over. I did enjoy the first season though.

Yeah he was pretty irredeemable in the comics, I guess viewers like to forgive a bad guy, especially when he's as nice n friendly as JDM.

Heard good things from my brother but it appears to be bombing in a lot of reviews.

I'll give it a watch
I had a quick look on IMDb and it seems the bad reviews are about lighting the usual gave up after one episode and people that can't get their heads around it. There are issues don't get me wrong (16 plate land rover in 2014 and why does everyone drive a pre 01 plate car..) but what kept me was the depth of the writing and the back stories.

Also binged the midwich cuckoo's a couple of weeks back and enjoyed that even though the red polos number plate changed during shots.

S11 is the final season, may as well get it finished! We're on a Season break atm, with the final few episodes expected around October.

Are you watching Fear TWD and WD: World Beyond. And get ready for:

Tales of the Walking Dead
Isle of the Dead
Untitled Daryl & Carol Spinoff
Untitled Rick Grimes Movies
No, I'm not watching any spin offs, I've not got the time :) So I just finished Season 10.. it's all so slow and painful.... the last three episodes. #20 - ends with Princess suddenly getting reunited with Eugene, Yumiko etc who have bags over their heads and kinda look like they are ready to be executed. Then #21 just ignores that cliff hanger ending and we get a full episode switching between Daryl trying to fix his bike & Carol making a soup, OMFG get on with it! And finally a Negan episode (like who gives a toss about him).

I'll watch Season 11 later, I'm in no rush, just like the film makers.

Ha! I remember that! It caused quite the discussion on TWD thread too :)

Tales of the Dead might be interesting as it's 1 episode stories with characters we've not seen before - so will no doubt be some good episodes and some not so good.

The Time Traveller's Wife - 8/10.

Started out thinking this would just be one for the missus to watch (who wouldn't want to look like Theo James) but it was really enjoyable.

2nd episode of S6 Peaky Blinders last night and really hope it picks up in the remaining 4 episodes as it's been a dull start outside of the opening 10 minutes of episode 1.

We got half way through the first episode and ditched it. Didn't like the characters or the script. Just all seemed off to me.
