A new artillery system might be coming to Ukraine as the Armed Forces now expects 18 105 mm L118 howitzers from the US.

The reason for choosing the L118 is its much greater mobility (2 tons), which is crucial in the counter-battery fight.
The L118 can reach the enemy at a distance of 17.5 km conventional (19.5-20.5 rocket-assisted).
Compared to the 122-mm Soviet systems, the 105-mm outranges them as the D-30 howitzer and 2C1 Gvozdika SPG firing distance is 15 km.

That's pretty cool, firing range is still decent and you can tow it with a Toyota

I don't think I can post it but there's a video doing the rounds of a Russian anti aircraft missile launcher firing a BUK missile which then proceeds to do a 180 turn and takes out it's own launcher.

I missed that initially but let's just hope that their nukes decide to do the same thing!

Either that or we just tested some nice new jamming tech that worked a treat.

Around 18 Riverine Patrol Boats from USA is heading to Ukraine.

The patrol boats are largely to protect the riverways (will likely be used in the Dnipro River close to Kyiv) but can also be used in coastal areas.
Ukraine’s current riverine force is largely made up of converted fishing and pleasure vessels, so these patrol boats will likely be a highly welcome addition to their forces.

Reckon the Russians will try to cut off Lysychansk next. There's a big salient begging to be cut off behind it.
Now that Ukraine are getting longer range fires I don't think it will be that easy for Russia as they'll be getting blasted from well within Ukraine's anti-air defence. Hopefully they get much more of these systems to really mess up Russia's ability to advance at all.

They might solidify south of Lysychansk so as to push on Bakhmut - if Bakhmut falls it will be a major issue for Ukraine as it is a major hub for the military in that area.

There is a media blackout in the Kherson region, but despite this the Kyiv Independent just made a post saying Ukraine is now attacking inside the Kherson city

That would be awesome, I've been hoping for some good news from Kherson, IIRC the media blackout started a few days ago and they were already in possession (or almost) of one of the last towns on the way to Kherson city, if they're able to take Kherson then game over for all the Russian forces that side of the river, they're cut off - potentially mass surrenders from them.

Also means the rest of Kherson south of the river is potentially able to be taken + Zaporizhzhia oblast too... it's kinda key if they want to push the Russians back to Crimea/pre-2022 lines.

With comparatively little major/breaking news from Ukraine right now and with Roe vs Wade taking a lot a particular groups attention away, I wonder how quiet this thread (and Ukraine chatter in general) will get over the next few days?

Same as ever, twitter and other forums etc are awash with news from Ukraine.

What you are saying is the west are losing interest because of the above you mentioned right?...

No, what I am asking is this..........

1. I'm "asking" not "saying".
2. I'm asking about "this thread (and Ukraine chatter in general)" not "the west"
3. I'm asking about "the next few days" not about the West "losing interest"

I agree with you that Twitter, reddit, Telegram etc are still busy with Ukraine news right now but I was asking about the next few days and what we think might happen, thats nice and simple to understand I think.
