Going to book my car in for a repair because I can't get any music source playing from the MMI. tried rebooting and resetting it all but hasn't worked.

Plugged in OBDELEVEN and i get a "component protection active' fault in the 'MMI'and '5F' modules so i assume the dealership will have to take a look it.

That what's the warranty is for right? My only issue being I had a ghost 2 immobiliser fitted when I bought the car last year and also a dashcam fitted in the fuse box. Should I leave this in situ or take them out before sending it in for repair. I don't want Audi weaseling out a warranty repair because of these common additions.
Chances are they will refuse the warranty wit them mods

Saw an old friend from school work in the dealership when I picked it up and I wonder if I should have a quick word with him to see if there is any wiggle room.

IIRC there has been a couple of threads on here in relation to electrical problems + Ghost + Audi - there generally won't be wiggle room going by those.

Take everything out that would have messed with the electrical system.

Make sure NO trace is left, if they even get a sniff, you face any warranty being void.

I think I read the thread a little while back actually, I'll definitely get the ghost removed before going in, take out the dash cam too?
Yes. You've messed with the electrical system and have whinged about Audi 'weasling out'.

Just LOL if it fixes your silly issue you've self diagnosed.

Going by the number of cars being stolen everyday, I'm sure my reasoning behind fitting the ghost was a sensible one.

Also slightly harsh considering I had professionals fit the system and didn't hack it myself.

Maybe it will fix itself after disabling the ghost, what would you recommend to try and prevent theft of keyless cars?
I've had a number of friends who've had the cars taken over the last year.

Put the key in a metal box/5 quid key holder, and not void the warranty on my expensive car?

Edit: bonus points, code out keyless entry

It's a car, it'll get stolen if they really want to get it.

Professionals fit the system..... So you had Audi professionals fit it to comply with the warranty/insurance scene T&C's?

If you're that worried about it being stolen then turn your house into a farraday cage, get personal protection dogs, personal security militia, a moat, sentry guns and some Ukrainian bomb drone swarms.

Or just get rid of the car with the keyless opening tech and save a few million whilst being able to sleep in piece ;)

this having fitted car security for many years before retiring , you can only hope to make the car harder for the criminal to steal. if it takes them too long they move to the next one.
90 % chance of them not stealing it .......park it in the middle of about 20 of the same make and model and hope:) or maybe get a tracker of some description but even those are able to be bypassed.

ask if you would you want it back if stolen and ragged, i know it sounds like a downer but the simple fact is vehicle systems have become more technical, and unfortunatly the thieves have too, nowadays the thugs who havent will more than likly break into your house for the keys or hold a family member till you give them the code , its 4 wheels not worth the hassle.
