New pc

The 1080 Ti has done very well, but I wouldn't bank on that kind of longevity for the future, it was a big step forward at the time and more than the 2080 Ti and 3080 Ti (relatively to each other, excluding ray-tracing).
Yeah the 1080ti and the 2080ti still do well in todays games really I mean even in warzone which is not optimised well at all they both still get very good fps.

I'm looking at building a new PC and 12600k doesn't seem worth over a 12400.

got a 12700 in my basket though for intel it seems either 12400 or 12700 is the way to go

only thing stopping me ordering is I can't find a case I really want...
I looked at 10 game av on hardware unboxed. 12400 was 184 fps/ 137fps 1% lows, 12600k was 201/154 and 12700/12700kf 212/166 1fps diff between them so 12600k was 10% faster than the 12400 and 5% slower than the 12700kf/12700, and you can clock to 12600k to same performance of 12700 I read. Factor 259 for the 12600k against 315 for the 12700, think the 12600k sweet spot. Beats my 5800x in most things, costs less and will last a fair few years...paying up gets diminishing returns

12600k with +4 efficiency cores doesn't really seem worth the extra in my eyes over a 12700k and I don't upgrade often anyway so

Been looking at AM4 if I went AM4 route I could get a 3090ti with say a 5950x / 5800x3d for the same price as the intel in the first post with a 3080ti?

Also been looking at a 6950xt which is cheaper and sits between a 3080ti 3090ti in performance from my research and is cheaper than both?

So really then it’s a good buy is what we are saying? Specs are decent enough? Should last me

leaning towards saving some money which points me to AM4. Accept nothing is future proof so if a decent AM4 rig lasts me couple years cheaper ill go with that for now like the idea of a 5800x3d and a 6950xt though but possibly leaning more towards a 3080 cheap.

A 3080 can be had for cheap these days, second hand they come free with Kelloggs.

Sorted over spent but went intel just going to use it now when it arrives and enjoy it I’ll see what the new stuff brings when it’s out and if needs be get a new gpu. Cpu,ram, motherboard should be good for a few years
