Camera's, Camera servers, Browsers, Java, stuff like that!

I have some cameras dotted about my property that are just ordinary CCTV.

They plug in to a camera web server that allows me to log in and access the video.

Thing is that the web server requires Java to work and as you may know, fewer and fewer browsers seem to be supporting Java these days and this is already causing me problems.

I just wondered if anyone knows where the future of this is? Are there new servers coming out that don't need Java? What are my options here?

Most modern systems don't require java, I can't remember the last time I saw a CCTV system that did require it to view on a browser.

That figures. I use an old device that I picked up on ebay for £20.

What should I be looking for in the way of protocols or whatever to make sure I don't make the same mistake?
