Upgrade from a 5700XT?

I imagine now is far from the ideal time to change GPU but if I was going to consider it, what would be a decent step up from a 5700XT Anniversary Edition without breaking the bank??

The rest of my specs are in my sig and I typically game at 1440p/144hz.

No budget as such and if I'm honest my 5700XT plays everything I throw at it so it would very much be a luxury upgrade - I just wondered what the next logical step up would be!

I'd only be looking at a 6800 or 3080, tbh, you're only one generation behind and performance totally stagnated at the midrange. A reasonable upgrade is possibly several years away, though if the next-gen are as impressive as rumours have said, the 7700 XT may be significantly faster.

Well something like the 3060 ti or 6700 XT is another >25% in performance. The 3070 ti or 6800 would be anther >50% in performance.

If you are happy with the fps the 5700 xt gives at 1440p, then there is no need.

The 3060 Ti at only £369 might be worth the extra 25% frames if you want to stay above 100fps without turning down settings. But it sells out pretty quickly at that price.

In this case then I'd recommend waiting until something at a reasonable price doubled your current performance and only then would you feel it being a decent upgrade :)

I managed to get a 2080TI for £350 having been using a 5700XT since I got rid of my mining cards. Its a nice upgrade while not breaking the bank. If you are persistent enough theres been a few 2080ti under £400 as they are not selling.

Yup, good solid card at that price with a decent amount of vRam :)

A 6700XT is quicker by around a third over your 5700XT but it does use a lot less power. However, if you want to see a bonafide leap in performance I suggest you wait for the new mid range cards rumoured to be coming in Q3.

Get something wioth at least 12GB VRAM which will serve you better in the long term. If I were you, and you're clearly not in a hurry to upgarde I would wait for new cards arriving. If not I would be looking at 6800XT or 3080ti with 12GB.
