Hi all,
My young nephew was building his own pc before lockdown and had bought everything and paid for It all, but he got put on a waitlist for a gpu which he had already paid for and they told him It would only be a few months but ended up being more nearer to two years and know has found the company he bought from went bust but lucky for him he got the money back In the end, What I would like to know for him Is he now better off changing his cpu and gpu for something better out there.

He has this:
Ryzen 5 3600
Geeforce RTX 3060 Ti Eagle (what he was on waitlist for months before company went bust, now looking to buy same from elsewhere)
B450 tomahawk motherboard so I'm told.

Question Is he still ok the buy that GPU or better off finding something better and maybe a cpu also

He wants to play mainly survival games and stuff like that.

I believe he paid roughly £500 for gpu which came back from liquidation company last week but that's all he's missing is a gpu everything else he's got installed just had a non working pc for months bless him, I think that it sitting there his hard earned and saved up money may need to upgrade the pc already.
So I'd say roughly £500 to spend on GPU should he get the same one again or Is he better trying to find something else

I'd be tempted to look to improve the GPU really for that sort of cash. 3070 isn't far off that.

The cpu is good. 6 cores 12 threads is great.

You Might try get the 3070 FE. It’s very fast for the money. 3060 Ti is great too.

You’re timing your purchase of the GPU great at the moment as the market is flooded with used mining cards.

If you check out Nvidias website I think the 3060ti FE is available for £380 delivered. The cooler is smaller so runs hotter and louder but is a very good price.
