Oops my mate (mis 30s ) two years ago hung up her car keys as other things occupied her life. Now she wants another car but her license has expired About 2 years weve only just found out this evening but wondered if anyone out there has had similar experience? Thanks in advance. A worried Phil
 
If they made people old enough to have an expired licence take the test again, we'd have a lot (more) of grumpy old codgers complaining about the rules. My grandad is 90 and from his driving, quite clearly hasn't taken a test since the 50s :P

Photocard licenses expire every ten years.
 
Had to redo mine and was told its just the photo that needs renewing so she should still have a license just need to renew it online or at the post office with a new photo.
 
Did you/she/he/whoever not get a letter? Is their address not up to date?! I got a letter through the post saying the licence needed renewing (actually postponed for a year due to covid/lockdown) which involved a visit to the post office a photo booth and a rather large fee
