Finally looking to replace my old PC and looking for a good value 3060 Ti. I don't need the best card around, just something middle of the road.. What's the best?

The words 'value' and '3060Ti' don't belong in the same sentence unless the sentence also contains the word the 'terrible' but if your hell bent on getting one get the cheapest one with a decent warranty. Performance wise cards from the same SKU don't often have big differences especially at the mid range level, decisions for cards like this come down to things like cooler design, noise, features, warranty and price that all go into determining a cards value. Zotac offers a 5 year warranty, ASUS cards built well have excellent power delivery circuitry and the TUF model is one of the coolest and quietest on the market, these are the two models and I would consider but I would avoid MSI.

Just note consider though (depending on prices in your local area, I see your from the land down under) your going to better off with a RX 6700XT (more VRAM, more performance).

the 6700XT doesn't get good reviews compared to a 3060 Ti
The problem is a lot of the reviews are from 2021, prices have moved a lot since then, just remember there's not such things a bad video card just a badly priced one (well unless your company is Intel). These days cards like the 6700XT are trading at or just below it's MSRP but the 3060Ti is still carring a bit of a premium, even at the same price though the 6700XT out performs the 3060Ti handily in 90% of titles thanks to better game design and driver improvements, if you can get the 3060 Ti at it's MSRP and it was quite a bit cheaper then the 6700XT I would say get the GeForce card but as it stands AMD is the better choice at this price point.

OK thanks.. I'll look into both options. Price wise here in Australia there about the same.

I think considering your location you have been given bad advice above. For all we know they are cheaper than in the UK. Some people consider the price of the 3060ti in their opinion to be poor (in the UK). Some people consider it to be good (in the UK). The FE for instance always has been a good price if you compare it to other cards.

First let us know how much they are in Australia, the ones you are looking at. Then we can see how much the price is in £ etc

If you are not bothered about Ray Tracing then the 6700xt is a very good card too.

OK thanks, Some example prices, all from the same retailer to keep it fair (There is slight variation between retailers as expected):

3060 TI:

$679 - Asus NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Dual Mini
$759 - Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Eagle OC LHR 8GB
$749 - MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Ventus 2X OC LHR 8GB

6700 XT:

$729 - ASUS Radeon RX 6700 XT Dual OC 12GB
$699 - MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT Mech 2X OC 12GB
$699 - ASRock AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT Phantom Gaming D 12GB

Current approx. conversion rate means that $700 AUD = 398 GBP

That Asrock 6700xt is a cracking price at about £398 if you don't pay much extra tax on it. The 3060ti is better for ray tracing but the 6700xt is a good 1440p raster card, https://youtu.be/n3gh0By11jo

Personally i'd be suggesting one of the bottom 2 6700xt's in this instance, i think it'll last you well if you are 1440p. If you're after 1080p high refresh rates and the vram isn't such an issue, then 3060ti.

How is the price/availability of the 6750xt in Aus? Worth a look.

Are the rx6600 prices any good down there? Here it's about the best value. Out of your choices 6700xt would be my choice. But waiting is also what many are still doing to try and get better value. But it's summer here so gaming isn't a priority right now for many.

I've went for a 5600x and 6700XT combo. I'm currently only using a 1060 so anything will be an improvement :)
Congrats, hope that you enjoy them. The 6700xt raster performance isn't far from a 2080ti which would have cost well over double the prices that you gave for the 6700xt
