So my 13-year old Aygo is in the garage again and getting untrustworthy.
It has started hesitating but garage cannot replicate nor find issues

I’ve just starting a new job and looking to replace it

Any thoughts?
Public transport where I live is literally non-existent so need reliable car

Aiming to get loan out to finance this

Sorry head spinning and such

Not sure on budget - was looking at 208s but friends have questioned my sanity with cost to buy etc
That said they suggested Auris hybrid with cvt (no thanks!)
I’ve had to move back in with Dad as I’ve split with my partner so living in the sticks

Ideally want 5 doors and something a bit bigger and not staring at Toyota badge again

It's really hard to try and help somebody without any sort of budget. You must have a rough idea of how much you ideally want to spend?

Sorry again
Looking at around £13k if I can get cheap enough loan
So Fiesta Ecoboost unless someone can give alternatives?

Honda Civic if you don't want the most reliable car company in the world, go for the second. Bomb proof other than their aircon units. Done... next question? lol
EDIT: personally stay away from all the turbo ecoboost crap, just seen you saying ford... just buy a Honda. Better built all around!

do you have to get a loan ?, how much would your budget be without one ?
i recommend a Focus over a Fiesta, more goodies and more refined

Only just got the job having been jobless since April so no budget without loan
It’s drinking oil and more things need doing so want to get shot now really.

Nearly all cases of this size are small-engines turbos so difficult to avoid

... into the wrong lane, wrong way around roundabouts, through red traffic lights and so on...

I always feel a bit nervous when I see a Honda Jazz LOL - they seem to have a high ownership amongst older people who should have given up driving.
They were only middle aged when they bought them, they just keep on going.

A decent Mazda 3 Sport Nav circa 2016-2018 would be in budget. Get the 2 litre normally aspirated petrol for reliable trouble free motoring. Loads of kit as standard, HUD, climate, heated seats, etc.

does seem to be noticeable that whilst it improves fuel economy and performance these small capacity turbocharged engines, which manufacturers have started fitting to everything, are noticeably less reliable and more costly to maintain them a large capacity naturally aspirated engine when the cars fall outside their warranty period!
