The British Army’s considering the K9A2 Thunder to replace the AS-90, so Poland may get a slice of that, becoming a manufacturing hub for Korean weapons in Europe. Other country’s in Europe already have the K9, so they might get to build any additional units ordered in Poland, and a few other countries are considering buying it, so they may be quids in.

I'm no engineer but that gap looks like its probably 4-5 metres or so (you can consider 5 yards for those stuck in the 19th century)
Plus the edges are likely to be pretty mullered as well so thats not going to be a couple of 1inch plates unless your very brave.

I mean I am sure it could be easily spanned with a proper bridge spanning section(s) but if they managed to do that much damage that easily to reinforced concrete a simple span is going to stand no chance

One possibility might see Poland unilaterally annex western Ukraine, before Russia can, if it looks like Ukraine was falling - which would be a somewhat tense situation.

You mean agreeing to be annexed by Poland without a fight? That will effectively mean Poland are at war with Russia, or at least at special military operation.

I assume in any such agreement that Ukraine would be granted it's freedom again later.

Given a fair chunk of current Ukrainian territory was Polish until ww2, that would be a fun game.

I don't think Poland would attack Ukraine maliciously here, wouldn't make sense, it would only make sense to me if it was essentially to get Poland into the war to fight on behalf of Ukraine somehow.

Unless I've totally read the scenario wrongly.

I guess though that seems rather unlikely.

A more plausible similar scenario could occur in the south though with Moldova possibly reuniting with Romania in the event that Russians are kicked out of Transnistria.

Oh, neither do I. I just don't see how that could happen.

I assume that, if Poland again controlled a chunk of their previous territory, that would not be a straightforward holding exercise. There would be calls to reunite its historic cities, like Lviv, back into greater Poland if the opportunity presented itself.

I always assume the worst, to be fair.

It was something which was mooted at some point by Poland/Ukraine - I'm not sure it is particularly likely but Poland doesn't seem overly keen on having Russia on the current border with Ukraine.
