Help me choose a 6800XT...

Yes but they often use Samsung VDIMMS for the ram and their coolers are better.

Nitro+ cards often sell for a higher amount second hand because of it.

Not saying you’re wrong, just that there are other considerations with AMD cards.
I believe the Gigabyte cards are using Samsung memory too, at least the 6800 XT variants all do so should be the same for the 6900 XT variants.

Last AMD gigabyte card i had was n RX 580 8gig and it used Hynix.

YOu use a Toxic extreme, you hypocrite ;) .
If you are referring to GPUs released in 2017 you might be right, but Gigabyte 6000 series should all be using Samsung memory.

Oh right. Nice one. I usually don't like Gigabyte as a Company but they do have some good products, I just find them a bit iffy in some business practices.

I hate their implementation of dual BIOS for instance. Sapphire is kind of a hipster business in some ways. Either way, they are all just companies.

6900XT for not much more.
Where do these sit from a performance POV, are they between a 3080 and 3090?

Edit: going by the review below then it's 15% cost for probably 10% extra performance over the 6800XT. That's good going generally, so worth thinking about.

Cheers :)

I've went for the Gigabyte 6800XT.

It's the warranty that tipped it for me, 2 years is poor and if Sapphire don't have confidence that it'll last longer than that then why should I? Plus, I'll end up selling this on if the new gen is decent so the extra warranty helps with that.

Thanks for the input. :)

Just tagging Gibbo in to confirm that Sapphire warranty is two years, as I thought it was but then it was later updated to three years. I could be wrong. @Gibbo

Hope you're happy with it, mate (as I said, I am with mine). :)

You should be fine using the same driver as it's only one generation different, but for the sake of 5 minutes uninstalling & installing the latest - I've always thought why take the chance? :)

Would I use AMD cleanup utility? This is my first foray into AMD territory so apologies for the newb questions.

Ok, I'm all set with the driver.

As I'm using with a CX48 I'm set at 4k 120Hz. Should my colour be set to 10 bit YCbCr 4:4:4 or RGB 4:4:4?
4:4:4 Full RGB, 10 bit pixel format, set TV to the PC channel too by clicking the home button. Do not enable the 10 bit pixel format found under the graphics menu.

I'm having a bit of trouble with VRR, I have it enabled in the AMD software but I'm getting judder and tear in game. Are there other settings? Should I have the TV set to enable AMD Freesync Premium? I'm sure when I enable that then it restricts me to 60Hz at 4k.
