Just ran 3D Mark Timespy with my 4K monitor set to 2560x1440 which is the native resolution 3D Mark runs at and I got my best score of 13148, its not fair to be punished for owning a 4K monitor when those running at 2560x1440 natively get slightly higher results.

That makes no sense ? Sounds like your PC is just underperforming or doesn't performance as well due to their components.

You don't get punished by running a lower Res on a 4k monitor at all.

See here...

https://support.benchmarks.ul.com/s...choosing 1920,output resolution will be fine.

"If you're aiming for the highest possible score in a benchmark—for an overclocking contest, for example—matching your desktop resolution to the benchmark's internal rendering resolution may provide a very slight performance gain."

Change your monitor to 1440p then and it's not an issue, but I'd imagine it's a very small performance gain if there really is one.

I know I am already.

So according to the FAQ you linked, you won't be suffering any penalty as your desktop res and application res match. Its no longer relevant that its a 4K actual monitor.

Edit: OK, you've done this as of the 5:12pm post, sorry. /thread.

When you run it with the desktop resolution at 4K it upscales it to 4K, when you run it with desktop resolution at 2560x1440 it doesn’t upscale and therefore doesn’t fill whole screen.
